I have nothing good to say about Weight Wise since they switched to Sumitt. I haven't been there in person but I have been calling for over 6 months about my iron levels and never get a response. I have left several messages and only actually spoke to a person once who said she would get with Dr. B and call me back. Well thats been over 1 month ago so I finally called my PCP for my iron check and she has started me on a new vitamin, again left a message to tell them and ask if it was okay and still nothing. I don't know if the staff has changed but it wasn't like this 2 yrs ago when I started they were very helpful.
Topic: Sewing and Alteration help
I have a sewing machine and some basic skills I acquired in a class at Francis Tuttle and can make a mean apron or wash cloth but as far as altering my clothes, I have no idea. I'm at a stage where the clothes that fit my legs are way too big on my waist. I would really appreciate it if someone who has some skills in this department could advise me how to do it or maybe even show me sometime. I live in the OKC area.

It seems that the insurance companies are figuring out that it's a good deal to help us lose the weight! Keep trying. Best wishes!

I fought my insurance for 2 years before being able to switch companies and get approval but I would do it again in a heartbeat! Keep fighting!

I wish you the best. It took over 5 yrs to get my surgery due to financing problems. It is well worth the wait. I am now down 40 pounds 9 weeks out.

It's been a couple years since I've posted. At that time I was going through Weight Wise for VSG, my insurance denied, was willing to pay cash but was encouraged to keep going the insurance route. Long story short, used up all my appeals, ran out of cash, bottom line...no coverage AT ALl for out of network providers. Became very discouraged and gave up on it all. Now I'm ready to try again. Going to go through a known in-network provider and see what happens. Wish me luch!

First of all congrats on the plastics!
Second I would be hella p'ed off about the care/service and surely would email/call/write who/whom ever is in charge of patient care (Head Nurse or Patient Advocate). If no one ever reports these things, then they will never be fixed.
