Topic: Bariatric friendly PCP wanted!
My current PCP isn't a fan of my RNY and I'm a little uncomfortable with him now.  If he doesnt support my decision, is he going to be up to date with the special care my body needs now?  Looking for a new dr in Moore/OKC area!

Topic: RE: Questions about post-op? (Dr. Broussard)
if it is still the same it is clear liquids for a couple of days before surgery and then sugar free liquids for 2 weeks after.  You really need to get in for the class with your surgery date coming up so you will know what to expect.

Topic: RE: Has anyone used Dr Walton or Dr. Broussard at Weight Wise?
Thanks so all who have responded!  Its so awesome to see how well everyone has done with the sleeve!  You all have got me very excited!  I'm still not 100 percent sure which surgeon I'm going to use, but I really liked meeting Dr. B at the seminar.  He seems really great!

Now, can anyone tell me what you do at the surgeon consultation?  Is that when you meet with the dietitian and psychologist?  Or are those different appointments that will have to be set up?  I appreciate all the responses!  I've enjoyed going through all the older posts on the Oklahoma forum.  Wish that it was still that active.

Topic: Questions about post-op? (Dr. Broussard)
I'm scheduled to have surgery on 3-11-11, I haven't gone in for my pre-op diet stuff yet and I'm wondering what the post-op diet is. Is it liquids only and protein shakes?

Topic: RE: Has anyone used Dr. Luis V. Gorospe of Tulsa?
I used Dr. Gorospe in Aug of 2007 and so has a coworker of mine. I would recommend him anytime of the day. He has moved around from different hospitals so I don't' know where he is practicing at currently. The reason he moves around is because he is the type of doctor that likes to run the show and lets face it, sometimes when you're a hospital your peers don't like it especially when your not the boss! LOL

That doesn't change anything with him being a competent doctor!

I had gastric sleeve with Dr. B in May of 2009 and have lost over 120lbs most of that being in the first year.  I have now been holding my weight steady at 120lbs for over 6 months which is 20 lbs less than the 140lb goal I orginally set.  I couldn't be happier with the results.  Just make sure you have a great patient care coordinator they are your life source to the doctor.  My original one was excellent but it has changed and i can't get her to ever return my call or answer the questions i ask.

Dr. Walton did my VSG almost 3 years ago.  I cannot reccomend them enough!  You cannot go wrong, regardless of which you choose- Dr. B or Dr. W.  They have different personalities-- Dr. B is MUCH more direct if you are screwing up, Dr. W much more gentle-- he will still tell you but more gently.

Most people say that the surgery game them their life BACK-- I say they game me a life!  I went on my first diet in 1st grade.  I have always battled (usually unsuccessfully) my weight since I was a small (well not small but young) child.  I could not imagine my life when not being defined by being morbidly obese.  GO FOR IT!!  Weight Wise surgeons rock!

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
