Topic: About to make the plunge....
Hello Everyone, I have come to a decision to have weight loss surgery. I have signed up for a seminar. My dr. is good friends with the surgeon that I am going to see, and has agreed to give me the referral after I got to the seminar. He has suggested Sleeve Gastroectomy. Looking for support.
Thanks,
Stephanie

My best guess is that you are deficient in some of the minerals you should be getting in your vitamins.  Off the top of my head it sounds liks a B-12 issue to me-- but I am NOT a doctor!  I only see doctors.  You need to get in to see your doctor and get some lab work drawn.

It is possible this could be unrelated to your WLS and be something totally unrelated. At any rate, go see your doctor.  And, get back on your vitamins!

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

First you'll attend a seminar and have the chance to ask some questions and listen to someone who's had rny/vsg before as a testimonial. Afterward, you can set up an appointment with a doctor either immediately following the seminar or whenever you want (I waited a week before setting up an appointment with Dr. B, who also gave my seminar).

As an aside, I had a fluke complication three months post-op, and was fortunate enough to be tended to in THEIR Edmond facility and not a local hospital. Way low infection rate, MUCH better nurses who actually check on you, bring you meds, etc. They had to do a TP line to feed me because I hadn't eaten in three weeks (couldn't) and was dehydrated. I SHUDDER at the thought of being hospitalized at norman regional, midwest, etc with those problems...wouldn't get me in the door to those hospitals...

Thanks, Pattipurple, for not shooting me down, as another poster did. No, I did not know about all your complications, only about the multiple hernias, which was bad enough. I am so glad there is another voice out there to warn people about how serious and sometimes dangerous this surgery can be. We tend to rush in where angels dare to tread because we are desperate to be rid of this problem that we have tried and failed to fix on our own. I still believe in gastric bypass, but it is not for everybody. I put my family through hell and I am deeply sorry for that. My poor husband had to sleep in my hospital room, wondering every day whether this would be the day that I died. It's not just us that goes into that operating room. It is also the families that love us so. Thank you for reminding us that we must always carefully deliberate every decision of this magnitude that we make. And yes, Dr. Keith seems to be too overwhelmed by his patient load to take care of the ones of us that 'go bad'.

Kiddo Are you reading my page? same doctor . Here is my 411 day after surgery blood loss to the point I al most died ..stupid nurse didnt care had  blood transfusion...two weeks after the rny emergency surgery for MRSA which KEITH never told me I had. Had surgery three days in a row...couple months later MAJOR HERNIA surgery gall bladder then 5 more hernia surgeries another MRSA surgery staph infections like crazy...a tummy tuck and oh yes one more hernia suergery...I am suppose to be having another repair surgery for mesh that is torn lose.. LOL but I havent got there yet. Did I ever get to goal HELL NO...I use to be so PRO RNY PRO WLS and now I am telling folks DONT LISten to the doctors do the friggin research cause they aint gonna tell the whole truth. I use to go to support groups and show my incision and say hey complications happen it aint no rosy picture. Just to be told by KEITH not to do that I was scaring patients away. WTF! If you know the facts you have a right to be scared. I knew the risks and I knew comp[lications could happen but Damn I didnt think for three years I would be in and out of the OR and spend most of the my HUNYMOON period in recovery.
I feel your pain GREATLY! I lived it and still am. I hate that I have no support group to go to and say how I feel to fins others who have suffered as I have. and to find real support.
With that said..I know I can go to WEIGHT WISE and find support and I am not asked to be quiet.
I am here for you...if you need to talk scream or yell! BTW you are not alone...

First of all Its against the TOS of OH to be on a forum selling anything. Check the rules ..Second of all I am totally upset that you are wantiong to sell something you never paid for in the first place..Tax payers paid for it. If you have no need of it..why not donate it...

Good luck to you and get moving as soon as you can when the weather is nice (and I need to take my own advice too!)

Topic: RE: Has anyone used Dr. Luis V. Gorospe of Tulsa?
I'm currently going through a 90 day program my insurance requires me to do to have surgery with Dr. Gorospe, so far they whole staff has been great. The seminar was informative and the staff have been great in getting me setup for all the things insurance requires before approval.

Nothing but good things so far.

Topic: Muscle Issue Question
I'm almost six years out of rny. Doing great. Living life at goal and loving it.

But I'm having muscle issues. Yesterday I worked out in the yard for two hours. And this morning I couldn't hardly walk or use my arms. The muscles in my thighs and upper arms just burn (like after a huge work out) except I didn't do much. I raked some but didn't over do it. I'm exhausted today and have been in bed all day. I got up at noon and took a shower, but afterwards I was too tired to even sit in a chair I had to go lay down.

I am not taking vitamins right now.
I do get 80 -100 grams of protein per day... all from foods, chicken, tuna, tuna, tuna (love tuna). lol
I get at least 100 oz of water /ice tea per day

Other then that I don't really count carbs etc... anymore. I'm careful with them as my stomach doesnt tolerate much of them(the stomach still rules)

I can not drink milk at all... not even in Kashi cereal... I dump majorily every time...

any ideas????
