 Thanks Leah,
I found the SF Hazelnut and French Vanilla at Marshall's for $4.99.  I will definitely check out Starbucks.   I tried Amazon, a couple of weeks ago....at that time they weren't shipping because of the cold and the danger of it freezing.

Hugs
Deb

Debbie,

I buy french vanilla, hazelnut and caramel vanilla at Sams club. You can buy the big bottles for around $5.00 a piece. Target sells french vanilla too, a smaller bottle for around $5-6.00. At times, they will have strawberry or raspberry.
Ok, but my most fav place to get my SF syrups is STARBUCKS! They will sell you their cinnamon dolce and other flavors if you ask them. Any syrups they use to make the SF drinks they will sell to you even if they dont put them out on the shelves. You just have to ask. If they have extra and enough, you can buy it. I LOVE LOVE starbucks!
Also, I noticed you said you tried online...did you try amazon? Since my surgery I have become an Amazon junkie. They sell all the SF syrups. I havent ever had an issue with them shipping them.
Hope this helps.

Can anyone recommend a good place to find the DaVinci or Torani SF syrups in the OKC area?
For that matter I'd even drive to Tulsa if I had to....

The Walmart I normally use only has a couple of flavors.   I was going to order online, but they won't ship until the weather is warmer.

TIA.

I'm 13+ months post-op and just posted new pics to my profile.  I haven't been on the board in quite some time.  My mother has moved in with me, so my computer time is limited.

34 lbs. lost before surgery on December 22, 2008.   105 lbs. lost prior to signing up for WLS.

Hey guys! I am not here near as much these days because I am trying to get my house ready to sell. I got a new job in OKC and i will be moving in a couple of weeks. I look forward to coming to some of your meetings and actually getting to meet some of the people that have helped me sooo much over the past year+. I am actually finally maintaining. I was worried for a while that i was gonna whither away to nothing. I have been the same weight for a little over 2 months now so I hope i can stay there and maybe once I am all moved and setteled I can startexercising and build some muscle and maybe gain a few pounds...who would have ever thought i would hear myself say that...

I get on a check the posts every few days and try and respond if I think i can help. There were so many that were helpful to me I hope I can do the same for someone else.

I am one of those that were here and then went AWOL from about mid Nov til January some time with getting back to posting my blog, but not really posting on the forums since my WLS was up in limbo I just didn't think I had anything worth offering to others.

I am on facebook but have no clue how to link from here to there, and don't want to. hehe If other's do, cool for them.

The OK forums have always been a bit more sporadic (in my experiance) then the other boards. But I have always enjoyed the people that I have found on here and participated when there were topics that I might be of help or gain knowledge from or support another person.

I like the people on this forum and those on my surgical forum. Great bunch of people.

As in all things, people come and go and that's a reality in life, unforunate as it is, but it does happen. Life happens. I just enjoy those that are here and willing to be of support to me and asm thankful for it.

Topic: RE: For the Post-Ops....
I just had my surgery. A week ago.

Before my surgery I was postponed because of  H Pylorie (sp) in the stomach. I felt like I was NEVER going to get my sleeve. So I just gave up and gave back in to eating. Sadly I gained weight of course. My surgeon called FINALLY and we were back on track and he was TOTALLY upset (understandably so) with me gaining weight over the months that I had been left in limbo.

I made a choice right then to get healthy, regardless if I was ever going to get the sleeve. I choose to make healthy eating choices and exercise. I kept a food diary and wrote down EVERYTHING I ate. Some days I kept to my allowed calories. Others I failed, but I did better the next day. I never let one day drag me down. I simply moved on to the next day and did better. I kept moving forward. In the end I lost 11 pounds before my WLS date.

I look at this as a learning process. You have to be willing to get back up again and again. You have to be committed. There is NO magic pill. There is no wand that can be waved and make you do what you need to do. YOU HAVE TO DO IT! simple

You have to decide if you are going to do it or not. No amount of sympathy, back patting, or blogging is going to change you. Only you can. It's dissicion time sweety.

I do agree that coming here and having people show an interest and asking how you are doing is a great way to keep you 'honest' (if you choose to be) and help you keep connected to a communty that is going through (more or less) what you are. That know and understand the hardship. But YOU are the only one that can make the change and make it last a life time.

I'm right here for ya and hoping the best and sending you helping prayers hun!! Hope to read your blog daily on what your eating and how much you are exercising.

Topic: RE: Killing Carbs

Recipes:
Warm up tomato juice and add a huge tablespoon of ricotta (got this from the sleeve forum from another member and can't wait to try it!!)

I LOVE ranch beans (about 2 tablespoons) on lettice, with diced tomatoes, a couple of slices of avacado and 2 tablespoons of cheese. It's a WONDERFUL 'taco' salad and soo filling and full of flavor.

I also LOVE tuna salad on seaseme crackers. Or on a bed of lettuce.
Tuna salad mix:
can of tuna, drained
1/4 cup diced celery
2 tablespoons diced green onion tops
1 tablespoon diced pickles (sweet or dill, your choice)
1-2 tablespoons light mayo (I only use kraft 1/3 mayo made with olive oil)
mix and chill and then serve 1/4 mixture on 2 or 3 torn lettuce leaves (however much you can eat) and save rest for another meal and it only gets better as it chills!

My family loves soups so I buy the 12 bean cajun style mix of beans and soak them and then simmer them for nearly a day before I add the suggested ingrediants on the package. I use turkey sausage for regular and my guys can't tell a difference!

I love heated pinto beans in chili sauce (if you can find them) and add some cumin to them and serve them with mexian cheese, home made salsa, and garlic powder mixed in them for dipping with tortilla strips. My kids enjoy that as I enjoy just having a 1/4 cup of the dip!

I make red beans and rice and just don't add rice to my plate.
red beans recipe:
1 turkey kalbosa sliced and then diced
1 large onion sliced
1 large bell pepper sliced
1 can red beans NOT drained
*saute sausage for several minutes to get a nice browning on the sides
*add onion and pepper and saute till tender crisp
*add beans and heat till hot and then serve!

Jambalaya:
Normally you make it with rice, but you can omit the rice and just enjoy the veggies and meat!
Recipe:
1 large onion, diced
1 large bell pepper, diced
2 stalks celery, diced
1 turkey kalbosa, diced
1 chicken breast, cubed
I can diced tomatoes
1/2 bag frozen jumbo shrimp
garlic, onion powder, chili powder to your taste

*brown sausage and chicken on the outside
*add diced tomatotes to pan and simmer for 10 minutes
*add veggies and simmer another 10 minutes ****il veggies are crisp tender)
*add shrimp and simmer till they are heated through and serve

In post op serving sizes these are VERY good choices when you select low fat cheese and forgo the sour cream (even the light is way calorie I think). The ranch beans are higher in fat then the pinto in chili sauce so I normally just go with the pintos for my taco salad and it's just as yummy!

There are a few no/low carb recipes for you! If it's just you then I'd cut the recipes in half at least. Sorry I have to feed a husband, 18 year old and three little boys! hehe
