Hey. I just got started with this whole deal. I am seeing Dr. Broussard in Edmond and I have really liked him so far. I plan on having the sleeve and need all the support I can get. Very excited. Please send any advice that you have.

Thanks for replying. It is great to hear that the heel spur/p.f. will continue to improve. My feet are way better, but I still cannot walk three full miles with intentsity without a flare up (or at least I couldn't last week - this week may be better). The knee has never been as bad as the heel, but I was afraid of running because of it. I'll keep you in mind as I continue to push the envelope. The very notion of me ever running brings tears to my eyes. Of course, when I first started considering it, so did the surgery.

Thanks for letting all of us know about the bright possibilites ahead.

I had assorted aches and pains (including shoulder)for a couple of months, but little abdominal or surgical pain. Our exercise physiologist told me that my center of gravity was changing. Once I started to pay attention to how I sat, walked, etc. and adjusted for the smaller body, that went away. Moving and walking is a big help.
Good luck, Lois

At 350 I could not stand for more than 5 minutes due to heel spur and kneee problems.  I had to have a knee scope done before I could have my WLS.  The planter faciatis (spelling?) took almost a year to cure.  Lots of hurdles but I just kept doing what I could and so far so good.  I guess my knees can handle running now that 170+ lbs are gone.

Good for you. Did you have any knee, ankle, or hip issues at your previous weight? Any other exercising issues to work through?

Thanks, Lois
