Topic: RE: Medicare Requirements?
It didn't take me 18 months to get everything done. just a couple of months. she will need 6 months of dr. suppervised diet, I have been a menber of TOPS for several years and they accepted that. There are other dr approved diets that are accepted also. start checking them out. it may be listed on the surgeons website. The Dr's. office and hospital will have to be a center of execellance. if she has it done at a hospital or by a dr that does not have that then she will have to pay for it.
she will then have to have all the regular pre-op tests done. and know that medicare will not pre approve this surgery so she will have to sign a release that if they don't pay she will. I had no problems with it. they paid everything for me.
Hope this helps some.

Topic: RE: vitamins
Dr Gorospe is located at 705 W Queens St in Broken Arrow and we offer samples of all of our vitamins. My favorite calcium is Lemon Calcet. It taste more like a little treat than a vitamin. He also carries chewable Strawberry and Hot Cocoa flavor.

Celebrate vitamins made me gag. I have a ton I can't even take. Try Bariatric Fusion. Berry, Strawberry, and Orange that taste a bit like a Sweetart. They have good protein shakes as well.
Don't buy a whole bunch of any vitamin until you are certain you can tolerate them. They cost too much to waste.

For calcium, try Bariatric Advantage chews. Chocolate and raspberry are terrific!

I take it you don't get along with the vitamins sold at Dr. B's office? I like them better than any others I've tried.

Topic: RE: DOCTOR question
I use Dr. Paul Preslar in MWC. He recommended that I have WLS and is extremely knowledgeable and supportive.
Topic: RE: DOCTOR question
I don't know how many docs in their practice have had exposure to WLS, but Westbrook Physicians in Edmond is right by Weight Wise. They are located on Kelly, literally just around the corner from Weight Wise. Several of my family members have gone there for years, and I went there myself for a while. Like I said, you might have to ask and see if they can help with the WLS aspect, but if they can, it's very, very close to where you had your surgery. Good luck!
