Topic: RE: 1 Wk PostOp Taste Question
Everybody has some change in their taste buds after surgery, but it isn't the same for everybody. Try diluting your s.f. drinks with water. Try drinking hot herbal teas or clear broth. Unbelievably, iced tea no longer tastes good to me & I used to consume almost a gallon per day. Just keeping trying things 'til you find what works for you.

Way to go! You're about 6 months ahead of me, so I like to track your progress for good ideas. I'll still be lurking around to learn about maintenance. Best wishes for continued success.

just to prevent any confusion. 164th is actually 15th at the intersection where Summit is closest to.
Topic: 1 Wk PostOp Taste Question
Hi Ya'll. I'm fairly new to this site, but love it so far. So much encouragement and information. Thanks for sharing your journeys.
I've got a week of liquids left to consume and it is getting harder. Not because I'm hungry or desire to eat, but everything tastes different from before. All the sugar free stuff tastes too sweet. Some drinks, like PoweradeONE Grape makes my stomach feel wide open and empty like a big space of nothing, then I end up running for the restroom. Did anyone else experience this weird feeling? And did your tastes change?
Also, I really miss milk, but tried some AES French Vanilla. It was great. The shakes and things taste ok or even good, but the clear liquids, even decaf tea with Splenda, are just weird.
Thanks in advance.

Yep. Summit Medical Center. Major cross streets are Kelley and 164th.

I kept telling myself (in my mind) while they were filming that loose skin is a badge of honor! LOL Of course, as soon as October gets here I am going to have my first surgery to remove that badge of honor! ha ha!

Topic: RE: DOCTOR question
I see Dr. Koons there at SMCC, and I really like her. But ya know I really did not tell her I was having surgery :),( hmm probably should have done that.) So I am not sure what her take on WLS is. I do know that she will take the time to talk to you and discuss your concerns and answer all your questions, so if you made an appointment I am sure she would be up front and honest about her take on your surgery, and whether or not she would be able to help you.

I assume it is at their facility in Edmond, but I just want to make sure before I drive up there.
