Topic: RE: Liquid Diet
I was lucky enough to not have to work while doing my pre-op liquid diet. So once I got the kids on the bus I didn't have to worry about being around food til they got home. Plus, I could have a SMALL, plain side salad with them for dinner. That helped soo much!
Good luck sweety! Just keep posting here when the urge hits you!!

Thank you all for your encouraging words. I have decided to go ahead with my surgery. I think I just had too much time to worry about all the things that could go wrong that I forgot all the benefits that the surgery can give me. I am going to schedule my surgery as soon as my pcp faxes my info to Dr. Keith. All of youre posts meant so much to me. Thank you all! =)

Mary,
It is normal to have doubts especially when you have to wait for a long time. Trust me the after diet is much easier to stick to. LOL Your body makes you stay on it. even at almost 18 months later my tummy still dictates me sticking to my diet. Whatever decision you decide on we are here for you.

I am so sorry to hear this but you are your own best advocate. Call Call Call I fought with my insurance (not the doctors fault) for over a year so I know how frustrating it can be to play the waiting game. Keep after them and never give up you can do this.
Topic: RE: Liquid Diet
I did two weeks of clear liquids post-op. I found snow cones to be very helpful. Most places will have sugar free flavors. I ate sugar free jello for lunch. The clear liquid diet may be easier post-op than pre-op, but these are a couple of items that helped me. Good luck.

Jay,
I am so happy to see you reach your goal. It has been a long journey but you have made it and I have no doubt you will go beyond that goal. You are an inspiration.

Topic: Liquid Diet
Hi all,
I am in day 2 of my pre-op clear liquid diet. I'm ready to tackle the next person I see with food and take it. How did all of you get through you liquid diet, what did you drink that was good and that helped with hunger? What did you all do for a lunch at work?
I really admire any of you that had to go through a week or more of a liquid diet and did not cheat. I only have to do five days and I am going nuts.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Call the insurance company yourself, get names, document EVERYTHING so you know who you talked to, then call the Dr's office back. It doesn't surprised me one bit that communication is crappy--and I am beginning to think there is tons of turnover in both camps lately and nobody "knows" anything...I think it's BS. But if you keep your cool, be polite but FIRM, keep bugging them they will get tired of talking to you and get something done!!!!!
