I have BCBS of Illinois, Dr. Gornichec was my bariatric surgeon. Insurance covered and an excellent practitioner.
Good luck to you!

I don't have any insurance information for you.  However, I was curious who you have chosen for your surgery.

Topic: BCBS of OK - your experience
Hi! I'm new here and just getting started on my weight loss surgery journey. I have BCBS of OK PPO and I am wondering if anyone else went through the experience of getting them to cover WLS. I have studied their policy and meet the requirements. I'd like to get the sleeve because I don't want the band (no foreign objects please) and I don't want RNY because I don't want to have my intestines messed around with. The sleeve seems to be the best option for me, personally. Anyway, I would just like to hear the experiences of any fellow Okies who have had WLS. Any tips, advice, and recommendations welcome.  Tips on dealing with all the information you have to put together for insurance approval would be most welcome! Especially if you did yours through BCBS. Thank you so much!

I'm currently trying to figure out my Insurance ,I  have united health care thru medicare and they pay  80% of the cost my question is do I pay the 20% up front to the dr. for the remaining balance first before sugery or after I go to New beginning in owasso and just still confused on some of the stuff that needs to be done, do I pay the hospital upfront or what, I don't even know what the actual cost is for they haven't told me yet when do you find out the cost I've had most of my pre-op test so waiting to see the surgeon again to know how can I find out. pleazzzz help me if you know for less stress is best.
