Angie, you look great. Hiking in the mountains is an activity I'm training for. Good for you.
Topic: RE: Weekly weigh In here!
DF,
It is probably increased muscle mass from all of your hard work! Congratulations on finishing your race, exercising so enthusiasticly, being a great role model for wls winners, and especially for surviving 15 years ago. You are a blessing to many of us.
Last Week: 154
Today: 151.5
Goal: 128
??????
This goal weight is my choice; it is in the upper range of "normal" for my height (5'1"). My surgeon hasn't given me a goal and my pcp was overjoyed 30# ago. How did others settle on their goals? One site suggested 105# as an "ideal" weight for me. While I am short, I have average hands, feet, etc for my height. Am I using that as an excuse and setting my goal too high? Will I intuitively know when I hit a weight that feels healthy for me? (At 55, healthy is my main goal, not model thin.) Some of my truly loving, caring family & friends are worried that I will go too far; they all seem to know someone who did. I'm worried that I might sell myself short and have assured my favorite aunt that I won't turn into a parody of an aging sex kitten.
Sorry for highjacking the thread, but I would appreciate some input. Thanks again, DF for starting the weigh in.

Amy-
You are a Star!!! people are going to start asking for autographs! LOL... I came and gave you a hug first thing Sunday morning and then I realized, She probably has NO CLUE who I am bc I didn't say how you know me... Anyway, I am beyond proud of you for running the whole thing! I ran all but a tiny bit when I was letting my running buddy catch up! You are awesome girl. And you deserve to be able to gain 5 lbs...for celebration purposes...LOL! Oh well, we know how to get it off, right!
Congrats again girl!

Topic: RE: Pre-op labs & requirements for Weight Wise
I KNOW IT SEEMS FRUSTRATING BUT THESE TESTS ARE NECESSARY TO INSURE THAT YOU ARE HEALTHY ENOUGH FOR THIS SURGERY. I KNOW THAT SOUNDS STUPID BECAUSE OF COURSE WE ARE NOT HEALTHY BEFORE THE SURGERY AND THATS WHY WE ARE HAVING THE SURGERY IN THE FIRST PLACE. JUST BE PATIENT AND EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT FOR YOU!

Thank you! Weightwise is the clinic in Edmond that I went to for my surgery. Truly amazing program and staff there. Pretty much all they do there is Bariatrics, with everything to go along with it. Nutritionists, Exercise Physiologist, Counseling, Support Groups, Etc, Etc, Etc,.......
Hugs!
Angie
