Have fun at the beach!
I MY RNY 5-5-09 Life is Good
Post surgery I have loved everything about it, gosh I am so grateful for this life changing miracle. HOWEVER.....today I went bathing suit shopping because we're headed for the beach at the end of this month....Does anybody know if they sell knee length bathing suits?? I look great from the waist up, but from the waist to knee....the skin...the skin.....I'm thinking we meant to plan a vacation in Alaska, where I could wear LOTS of clothes...... What are your make the best of it suggestions??? Swin in shorts???? my daughter in law laughed, when I said I would be the only one at the beach wearing pantyhose under my bathing suit, LOL!!!!!
Here's how our system will work: Everyone will keep their own clothes, but Dawn and I will keep a list of names and an inventory of the clothing people have to offer. We will send out periodic blanket emails requesting information on what you have or what you need, then we'll do what we can to connect the two parties. You can bring your clothes to a support group meeting or agree to meet at a local library, just be safe about it.
We're volunteering our time and offering our clothing to get things started. Anyone that is interested can send me your email via a PM or reply to this post, if you're comfortable leaving your email out on the forum.
Anyone with suggestions for improving this process, please reply as well.
Thanks in advance!
I'll start: I have business/casual attire in sizes 26, 28 & 30 and shoes in 8.5 or 9.

Im sorry you have to deal with all the insurance mess. That can be so frustrating. I was approved very quickly, but I have heard many stories like yours. Just be persistent. You will get there eventually! I was originally scheduled to have my surgery on Dec. 28th this past year but the day before I was to start my 10 day diet, I was informed my thyroid was too low and that the surgery would be cancelled until it was back in the normal range. Now after 3 months and 3 changes to my medications, its back in the normal range, I cant help be excited but I dont think Im going to believe its really going to happen until they wheel me into that operating room! LOL
I hope you get approved soon. Keep me posted on your progress! ~~Mary~~
We will have the same surgeon. Glad you have a date. I have been dealing with insurance problems. Took them 3 weeks to tell me I couldn't just use a center of excellence here in Tulsa. So now I had to switch surgeons and reapply for a "cigna certified" hospital 100 miles away in Norman. I really like Dr. Keith, though and am grateful he got me in so fast. I was about to give up after five years of trying to get this surgery. ( I still won't get my hopes up until I hear "approved") But I am sure I will feel nervous and excited too. I hope we can share our journey stories as we go.
