Congrats! As soon as the shock wears off, the excitement (and fear) begins! Its a whole new phase for you! Youve gone from "I'm hoping to have surgery" to "I'm GOING to have surgery!" It can be very surreal. Youre gonna do great! Let me know when you have a date! ~~Mary~~

Glad to hear you are doing well, Mary. I've been thinking about you and wondering how it went. Looks like I am finally going to start my journey too.
Topic: I am in shock
About 6 years ago, my co-worker and I started the paperwork to become RNY patients. Her appointment was one week before me and she was approved and had surgery. The week I had my appt the insurance changed their guidelines and I was not able to have the surgery. For years I have even changed employers just to try and get insurance that would cover WLS. Twice I had insurance that stopped covering WLS just as I was enrolled. in the mean time, I came hear a lot and read, researched and dreamed.
Finally, 18 months ago, I started a new job with insurance that covered WLS. I jumped through all their hoops including the 6 month diet...and waited for 2 months for an answer. Today, I am in shock as I have been approved.
I am of course a little scared but think I'll be ready when the day comes. Thank you all for sharing your stories and giving me hope.

Just out of curiousity how much skin did you get removed with the TT? I need to have skin removed and I believe I also need to have lipo as one side of my lower stomach is puffier than the other side, I believe it's because of previous surgeries, but it's not symmectrical.I go in tomorrow for a follow up visit.

7.5 months later and I still won't say it aloud, but I had a little buyer's remorse myself. It was fleeting. Ever since I've been soooo happy that I had the surgery.
Good luck. Follow your eating and drinking plan. You'll soon be a new you.
