Topic: RE: Introducing myself
I was fishing around on my computer looking for local support group meetings and this popped up. Anyway,my name is Judy and I live in Broken Arrow. I am having surgery Monday, June 14th at St Francis hospital in Tulsa. That is this coming Monday!!
Do any of you meet locally? I attend the support group for Surgical Associates, but would love to find more groups! Not sure if other groups allow in members who didn't use their services???
I'll try to frequent the board more often!
I dont know about meetings as I am in Lawton but I wanted to say welcome!

The TT was not bad at all... the arms are sore big time.
But it all gets better each day that passes.

I asked Monday at my follow up and he said this
10lb skin/tissue from tummy
2.5+ tissue from both arms
and he thought close to 10 in fluid/lipo but would have to check the file for sure.
so maybe 20 or so. I am floating on the scale with the swelling, the more I try to do the more I swell and so on and so forth.
I am thrilled with the outcome so far.
I highly recommed Dr Nuveen to anyone, he is very professional, kind and caring and a class act. His staff is wonderful and the sweetest bunch of ladies I have ever met.
His facility is 1st class and his overnight suite is very comfortable for the patient and guest.

Hi Molly, I noticed you are from Broken Arrow! So am I and I am having surgery on Monday the 14th!
Just thought I would introduce myself since we are "neighbors"! My name is Judy and I'm 56 years old and scared to pieces!! LOL My email address is [email protected] if you want to email me!
I don't spend a lot of time on this board because I am really involved on another one. Tonight I was just fishing around to see if there were any other support groups in the area.
Who is doing your surgery and where at? Mine is at St Francis being done by Dr Fisher.
Congratulations on persevering in your quest for insurance that would cover your surgery. That must have been hard, watching your friend and knowing you should have been next. Oh well, you are almost there! Hope all is smooth sailing from now on!!!

Topic: RE: Weekly Weigh In
It's good to hear from you, Amy. I had been wondering about you.
I'll be on vacation and offline next week, so I hope somebody else will keep it up. I'm pleased to say that I've lost a little more since Tuesday and only have 18# to my target weight. I actually mis-typed that to say 81# the first time. I cannot recall ever thinking I wanted to lose less than 20#. Of course, I may decide to lose a little more after I see how I feel and look at 128#.
Have a great week-end.

Mary....
I would suggest the following:
1. buy cormega. It is a liquid Omega-3. Dr Keith carries it or you can buy it at a health food store. Akins in OKC carries it I know...I have bought it there. You can also get liquid flaxseed oils that are flavored and dont taste bad at health food stores.
2. For the calcium citrate....Bariatric Advantage makes some chewable ones and they also make lozenges which just kinda melt in your mouth over the course of about 15 minutes. Celebrate Vitamins also makes a really good calcium chew that is lemon flavored.
3. You CAN put that big calcium citrate into some flavored water and it will dissolve. Or mostly dissolve.
4. There are also calcium crystals that have 600 (i think, it may be 500 mg) mg of calcium citrate per serving that you can add to water. They completely dissolve and you get your calcium while you drink your crystal light!~ These are my fav.
Hope this helps....

I'm glad you are keeping this going. I kind of fell off the wagon on posting this! I am still the same at 168 so I understand being excited to see 1/2 lb loss. Good job!!

Thank you so much for sharing!!!! I am so ready to have this done. Can I ask how many lbs they said you lost from it? I think you said in another post but I can't remember. They told me it would be 10 - 12 lbs and I'm just wondering how accurate that is. I'm so happy for you and you look great! As the swelling goes down and you get your energy back it is going to be so incredible for you! Congratulations.
