Hi Sherrie! Where did this board disappear to?! It used to have lots of activity! Was your surgery approved?
Wow. Where did everyone go? I have been off the boards for quite some time and just had a revision from band to vsg. I rembered several vsg people were on this board so was looking forward to see how everyone was doing! This used to be a pretty happening little place.

You can start by setting up an account, perhaps on MyFitnessPal.com, or a similar site for tracking (logging) your food intake. That's how I started holding myself accountable for what went in my mouth every single day. I understand the meds thing. I'm on quite a few of them, myself. I will be glad to help if you have any other questions, but the logging was the single biggest thing that helped me get under control and back on track.

I need help, am having a lot of trouble staying on the right path. I've gotten myself in the habit of eating all the wrong foods and am totally upset with myself for getting to this point. I've gained about 15 lbs. give or take a lb or two and hate myself for doing it. How can I keep myself focused on getting back on the right track. I know excuses are a dime a dozen but I really have a couple that contribute to my problem. I can't exercise and am on some pretty strong meds that seem to make me wanna eat. I know my problems are my own and I do own them but sometimes it helps just being able to voice yourself to others. Thank you for listening.
Dr Gorospe performed my RNY surgery in April 2010. He was very professional and kind, answered all my questions and put my husband at ease. I never had any problems getting appointments scheduled and found the staff to be very warm and friendly. He also did my umbilical hernia repair last year. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering bariatric surgery.
I never really gained until I was over 6 years out from the RNY. I stayed in about a 10 lb range for the first 6 years and I developed dreadful habits and didn't exercise like I should. All the sudden, I was faced with a 60'ish lb regain of my weight and no one to blame but myself. I had to lose all that weight again, on my own, without the help of the surgery. I still eat most things within moderation, but I've learned how to incorporate in plenty of exercise now. The honeymoon is definitely over, but I'm in maintenance again now and learning to stay in it again.

I've only seen one surgeon and I may be a little prejudiced but Dr. Gornichec did my Roux-en-y and he is awesome. My surgery was done at Deaconess in Oklahoma City and his office is at Integris on NW Expressway.
Dr. Gornichec is an excellent surgeon, honest and compassionate. He's very positive and encouraging and his staff is the same. Whenever I had questions they were prompt and helpful, they've been just wonderful, I can't say enough good things about his staff.
The only less than great experience I had was with the stress test conducted in his office but it was performed by an outside contractor and not by members of Dr. Gornichec's staff. But the problems I had were quickly addressed and taken care of.
I'd wholly recommend Dr. Gornichec to anyone interested in having bariatric surgery. I'd choose the same doctor and the same hospital, the care I received at Deaconess was excellent.
I had surgery last week with Dr. Walton and never asked about bougie size. Do you know what size they use?
