I think that varies dr. to dr.  In my case I "had the opportunity to lose 10%" of my weight before surgery because that is my dr.'s requirement, and had lot's of tests to be sure I was completely healthy and ready for surgery.  Do whatever your doctor tells you and you'll be a success.  Don't try to re-in vent the wheel (Cathy's "sage" advice, lol!!).

Here's to your success!!!!

Yes to everything you said, except our age range is 5-96. I'm especially grateful that I'm still losing at a moderate pace.

I chose the RNY because I was diabetic and from my research I knew that was my best shot at getting rid of the diabetes. I had a choice between Sleeve/RNY/Lapband and if I had the option of a DS I would of had it done, because the DS & RNY are the best at getting rid of the diabetes, the others not as much.

I suppose it is possible to develop diabetes no matter what your weight or wether or not you have had WLS. I know a few people who are at a so called healthy weight and have diabetes.
Hopefully it was just a funk set of labs and it is nothing to worry about.
