Can anybody tell me how long it takes to lose the weight that you gain right after surgery!  I got on the scale and I gained 8 pounds the last two days!!  I was prepared for that, from hearing it discussed in support group, but I'm just wondering when it's going to come off!!  Any idea?

Topic: Just got home from hospital!
I had RNY two days ago, on the 21st.  Dr. Walton is my surgeon.  Everything went very smoothly, and I am really surprised at how good I feel.  Other than the gas pains in my belly and a little soreness, I feel wonderful.  I'm just so excited that my surgery is behind me and I can now start my journey to the new me!  Right now my biggest challenge is trying to get the 64 ounces of fluids down everyday!  UGH!!  I'm amazed because counting the day before my surgery, I'm now on day four with no food, and I don't have ANY hunger.  Amazing.  I'm sure during the next couple weeks of my liquids only diet that I'll have some head hunger, but hopefully it won't be too bad.  Keeping fingers crossed!

I have to say that my experience with Dr. Walton and the entire staff at the hospital has been terrific.  They are all so caring and happy to help you.  I have had many surgeries in the past and spend many days in a hospital, and NEVER have I had this good of an experience.  Of course, the fact that there are only 13 beds in the whole hospital means a lot more personalized attention!

Hi!

I just had RNY two days ago, on the 21st, performed by Dr. Walton. What a great experience!  I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Walton and about the staff at the hospital.  They were all so caring and wonderful.  I'm so glad to have the surgery under my belt, and now I'm ready to start my new life!

Good luck to you guys, and just know that you are in great hands!

Hi!  I just had RNY surgery two days ago.  Dr. Walton is my surgeon.  I feel GREAT!  I just got home,  and I'm on my fourth day without any food, and I have NO appetite.  I am finding it a little bit difficult to get my 64 ounces of water in, but I'm doing the best I can.  I can tell you that this is a piece of cake!  Sure, I'm a little sore in my belly and still have some residual gas, but other than that, I'm fine.  I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Walton and the entire staff at Summit Medical Center.  They were absolutely wonderful!

I am so excited to have the surgery done, and now I can start living my new life!

Welcome! And I know what you mean when you say head hunger -- it is crazy!  As they say, they did surgery on your stomach not your brain, so we have to retrain out brains.

Good luck and congrats on the Great start!

My recovery time was very fast, take into consideration that I am a over achiever.  I went back to work in about a week on very light duty just because i felt so good, and went on a family vacation about a month after surgery.

Hi everyone!  I'm Tiffany and I had my surgery on July 14th, with Dr. Toby Broussard at Weight Wise Bariatric Center in Edmond, OK.  Starting weight 225, current weight 202.  I'm doing fantastic, except for this dang liquid diet!!!  I have so much head hunger already, it's crazy.  I think I've noticed every single food commercial on TV and radio that it has consumed me!  I have 3 handsome boys (2, 2, and 8mos) who my husband and I are currently fostering, but plan to adopt the first of next year!

I am very excited to "meet" all of you and hear your stories!

Thanks Russell.  I'm thinking a 360 is what I'm going to need too, but I don't know.  How long was recovery for you?  I agree...Dr. Pin started saving my self-esteem with the pani three and a half years ago, Dr. Walton did save my life a year and a half ago, and now I'm ready for the rest of it!  I would like to lose a few more pounds before it, but I also feel like I have soooooooo much skin to remove that I may actually be at that weight I want to be.  When I had the pani I lost 13 lbs. of skin.

Thanks again!
Marsha
