Topic: RE: Just got home from hospital!
Hi, Russell! So glad to see you here as well. I think this site will be very helpful to me as a resource. So glad to hear that Becky is doing well. I'm doing pretty well, except that I'm still having an awful lot of pain that I didn't really expect to still be having. Ouch! Yesterday I had a very difficult time getting my fluids down, and actually came up short about 20 ozs. I just couldn't get it down because I felt so full all day and didn't feel like there was any room in my stomach! I'm hoping that today will be better.
Have a good day!
Melissa

Amy and Russell,
You guys crack me up! From someone who's had PS once, I know how exciting it is to show those scars off! I'm pretty proud of mine from my pani. As for the drugs....I know that too! I'm Ms. Bashful, never showing off....um well things! LOL The night after I had my pani, my two best friends from work came to Baylor to see me. Let's just say they saw more of me than I'd ever seen! I couldn't wait to show them that that apron was gone....I forgot what that apron had always hidden! LOL Glenna still gives me a hard time about that!
I guess my problem with Dr. Sawan stems from a contest I was a semi-finalist in at KOCO, the extreme makeover Oklahoma, several years ago. Not the fact that I didn't win.....but when I went to his office for my consultation, he brought in another doctor...intern...whatever he was...and they stood there talking about me in their native languge, THEN Dr. Sawan left the room to get a camera, with me stark naked, and soooo embarrassed, and he left the door open. I really think I wouldn't have even thought anything about that, but the talking in their native language which was obviously about me as they were picking up skin etc....THAT bothered me badly! Was I too sensitive? Probably...but those things have a way of sticking with someone who is already so beat down from a lifetime of obesity, it just kind of topped the cake.
That being said, I do not think Dr. Walton or Dr. Broussard would endorse someone who embarrassed their clients. I am hoping it was a one time thing, and he was just insensitive to how sensitive I really was/am about my weight and excess skin.
Thanks guys! I'm going to try to get an appt. with Dr. Sawan before school starts. We'll have to see.
Hugs,
Marsha

Hey Amy, thanks for the positive comments about my scar. I think Dr. Sawan created a monster in me because my wife is always telling me to quit showing people my scar but i spent a lifetime ashamed of it but now I am proud of my abs. Also my wife had her surgery on the 21st and I am excited to welcome her to the losers bench and she is doing excellent and actually went back to work today and did really good. When you go see Dr. Sawan mention my name and tell him that I am still "Tight Like a Tiger" (There were some really good drugs involved after surgery, enough said)

Hey Melissa good to see you on obesityhelp. If you remember I was at the hospital walking with my wife who had sugery the same day that you did. Glad to hear that you are doing good. Becky is also doing good but having the same fun as you relearning how to drink fluid to be able to get 64 oz in a day but every day it gets easier. Keep up the good work and I wish you and your family the best. Also I'm in total agreement about the Hospital and the entire staff at Summit Medical center and eveybody at Weightwise. They are all the GREATEST!!! and I thank each and everyone of them every day for all that they have done for me and now my wife.

You will have to show me how to get the little scale thing at the bottom of my posts so I can brag on my losses like you, my beautiful wife, does!

Hang in there Randy. We are all rooting for you. We have all been there (well except for the newbies waiting for surery LOL) and know exactly what you are going through. We have all had to think through the "what if" and make the tough decision. Who ever said WLS was easy? Just hang in there and we are all scooting down on the losers bench to make room for you.
hey, think of all the money we will save between the two of us on groceries! Of course we will spend it on new clothes.... :)

Really good advice!!!! In fact, I think he should clean the whole house from top to bottom...he he!!! Seriously, that is really good advice. Staying busy helps.
I loved the bike trip! It was awesome and just so cool coming from someone who was 350 lbs a couple of years ago.
