Cannot fault him at all! I had my surgery 5/09 and have almost lost 100lbs, with absolutely NO side effects. He might not 'wow' you with his Cajun speaking style but he's a helluva surgeon!

BEST THING YOU'LL EVER DO!!! BAR NONE!

In my opinion... there is NO ONE better than Dr. Broussard!!! I love that man (yes, my husband is fully aware! LOL) He not only performed my sleeve surgery, but just a month ago took out my gall bladder as well! I trust him with my LIFE!!!! He is so kind, gentle and PASSIONATE about what he does! He TRULY understands the human body and how difficult it is for a person to lose weight. He is just amazing!!! As is the ENTIRE staff at Weightwise!!! I don't think you will hear anyone say anything bad about any of them. They are strict and you HAVE to be willing to make the changes... that should be a requirement anywhere, but at WEIGHTWISE they give you the tools and support necessary to do it!!!

I just love them all and can assure you that you will NOT be disappointed with ANYTHING if you follow their program, listen to them and utilize EVERYTHING they have to offer.

Best of luck to you and your sleeve!!!

Again I LOVE DR. B!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hugs,
Angie

Topic: Anyone use Dr. Broussard?
Hi - I am considering a Gastric Sleeve and have attended a seminar at Weightwise.  Dr. Broussard presented and I immediately liked him and felt very comfortable with him.   Has anyone used him for a Sleeve or other surgery?   Any feedback - good, bad, or indifferent??

Thanks for taking the time to respond - this is a big decision and I want the best!

Topic: 2 Weeks Post-Op
Two weeks post op today (Gastric Sleeve by Dr. Broussard).  Feeling great.  Loving the mushies.  Refried beans, scrambled eggs, cheese, cottage cheese.   All are working just fine.  I am surprised at how little it takes to fil the old pouch.  My wife had her sleeve two years ago but I guess until you experience it yourself you can't really know how it really feels.  I feel full rather quickly and it stays with me.  I haven't been hungry and have still been getting in my 64+ ounces of fluid (over 70 or 80 most days).  Hopefully the risk of developing a gastric leak diminishes day by day.  That was what I was most worried about.  Particularly because Dr. B had to spend 4 hours on my surgery repairing some damage done by the less-than-competent surgeon that did my fundoplication surgery two years ago.   But, praise God, all is going well.  I have energy again and am now 44 pounds down (24 pre-op and 20 post-op).

I have not had any of those kind of issues. I honestly would be freaking and jumping up and down for someone to fix me!

I hope it all gets worked out and the rest of your journey is smooth sailing.

Topic: ketoacidosis
I'm 20 days out of surgery, feeling just great, down a total of 62 pounds.  The only problem that I'm having is that when I go on my designated  walks for exercise my heart rate goes up very quickly and stays up and it feels kind of like someone is sitting on my chest.  My doc (the best, I'm convinced) told me that he thinks I'm having issues with ketoacidosis and that I need to add two protein shakes a day for 72 hours and that hopefully this problem will resolve.  I am diabetic, but since the day of surgery I haven't been taking any medicine, and my sugars were running in the mid-ninties until the last few days they've been running a little higher.  Also I have some kind of constant ache around my ribcage.  It's not surgical pain or gas, it's just a strange ache!  Very weird.

Has anyone else had any issues with ketoacidosis?  Would be very interested to know your experience if you did.

Thanks!

Melissa

Topic: RE: Foaming
I only foam if I eat too much.  At first I was really cautious about how much I ate, so I rarely got the foamies.  This summer has been my worst and I am over 2 years out!  I had to get that in check right away.

For me, jus****ching the amount I'm eating stops the foamies.  Good luck and it will get better!
