Hurray!!! I'm so happy for you. What a huge accomplishment on the weight loss. Where are you going to school?

I'm still striving for that elusive 100# lost. I'm averaging about a pound a week now, so things have slowed way down. However, if I can maintain that I should hit my initial target weight by my surgiversary. I still have restriction, but I can see how it would be possible to sabotage the surgery with slider foods. Thank heavens, they really aren't tempting me too much.

Best wishes on your weight loss journey & school & life overall.

I think it is normal to have these feelings. If you do as the doc says, then there is no way you can fail...Right?

By far having the WLS was the best thing I have ever done for myself and my family.

Good luck and hold on cuz it is a wild ride!

YES! I also feared failure, so I had some therapy before the surgery to be sure I had my head prepared. I also committed to six months of exercise before I ever went to the consult. By the time my surgery day arrived, I was prepared as humanly possible and I've never looked back. In the nine months since then I've read several books about weight loss, purged my home of unhealthy trigger foods, experimented with new foods and recipes, maintained an active life, altered clothes non-stop, laughed & cried more because I didn't have to hide my feelings, become a semi regular on the sleeve and OK forums, attended support group meetings monthly, and astounded even myself with my results.

I think WW has a great program with lots of support. Dr. B is very cautious, straight forward and plain spoken (as long as that Cajun accent doesn't throw you off). Follow their program and you will succeed.

Best wishes on your journey.

Topic: 200 Pounds.... LOST!!!! x post from VSG board
I hit it! I FINALLY hit it!!!! I have lost 200lbs as of this morning!!!!

WOW!!!! WHAT A RIDE IT HAS BEEN!

I am just a few weeks shy of my 1 year surgiversary and have lost a GRAND TOTAL of 200lbs and about 16 dress sizes (Went from a 30W to a tight 14), but I have GAINED sooo much more than that! I have gained health, energy, wisdom (about nutrition, exercise and the sleeve), self confidence, self worth and self esteem.

My initial reason for wanting to lose the weight soo bad was so that I could have children... But that has now been put on hold as I decided to go after my dreams to first become a school teacher, so for the next few years, I will be attending college and finally going after my dreams, then come children...

I am still working on my weight loss and have about 45lbs I still want to lose. I am in the beginning stages of finding a plastic surgeon to remove this burlap bag hanging around my waist, but that will more than likely be early next year.

Here are 10 small things that I never realized was contributed to my weight. It really is about the small things!
1. Shoe size - went from an 11WW to a 9.5Med
2. I can feel my hip bones and see my collar bones
3. NO SEAT BELT EXTENDER ON THE AIRPLANE!!!!
4. I have a lap... never had one before.
5. I can cross my legs
6. My husband (who is the same height as me) and I don't have to adjust the driver seat for comfort as I don't have to sit in the back seat to accomodate my huge gut!
7. I can ride rides at the amusement parks... not that I do, but I no longer exceed the weight limit
8. I can sit on the white plastic patio furniture without getting stuck or having it snap beneath me... yes, that HAS happened to me before.
9. I don't mind being in my bathing suit (it's a 1 piece and has a little skirt, but I am not self conscience in it)
10. I can fit in the bath tub and take a bath WITHOUT sloshing water all over the bathroom floor!!!

I am still a work in progress and I WILL get the last 45lbs off! I guarantee it! I have been struggling a little lately and wanting to snack more than I should, but today proves HOW WONDERFUL my sleeve is!!!!

I've said it before and I will say it again... If any of you are on the fence about having the sleeve, I can assure you it is CERTAINLY the BEST thing I have EVER done!!!! I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!!

Hugs to you all!
Angie

aruba_girl I will be 3 years post-op in december and I have absolutley no regrets with having the RNY.  I think that you have picked the best place to have your surgery and the Dr. B and Dr. Walton are top notch.  My advice is to always listen to what they and everybody at weight wise has to say and make a commitment to change bad habits and when you get to the new you, you will never want to go back to your old habits.  So best of luck and this is an awesome journey!!!

I have started the process towards my WLS.  I'm not worried about the surgery itself, I'm worried that I will be the only one that fails.  I having a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that I've failed at every other diet before, so why will this one work for me?

Did anyone else experience this?  I have no problems committing to the program.  I love the support structure with WW.  I'm so excited to start my new life just need a little encouragement from anyone that felt the same way I do.

This is soooo encouraging to hear!  I am in the beginning stages of the process with Dr. Broussard.  I'm sure that I want to do the WLS but am trying to be realistic about post-op food, water, etc.  It's nice to hear you are not having any challenges wtih being hungry.  It's hard to imagine what that's like!
