what's fun in Tulsa??!!
Hey fellow WLS peeps! I'm heading to Tulsa this weekend to meet up with a TX wls girlfriend.....and we need to know what's fun there! We'll only be there Saturday and Sunday. It's just a girls weekend for fun.
ANY ideas??? I thought this OK board may be a good place to ask!!
Thanks in advance!
(it's Tulsa cause that's a halfway point...I'm in MO and she's in TX)

If you like Irish pubs, there's a great one in Tulsa. Check the calendar. There's generally something going on there. Besides the zoo, which is great, and of course the big malls, there are a million things - museums and galleries and just loads of stuff galore. Oh yeah... we like to cook, so I love to stop at Wild Oats. Just thought of something else...I just found out that there is a Mediterranean market there that I'm itching to check out.

Thanks Denise,
I didn't get your message till I got back, but thanks for your input and I will keep all that in mind when I have more time to go! We hit the casino, out to the Elephant Bar for dinner (LATE) and then to a club the waiter recommended. It was an interesting evening/morning! Got about 3 hrs of sleep before we had to check out of our hotel, then ate and headed home, too tired for any shopping. I'm amazed I am still functioning on so little sleep! I haven't stayed up so late in probably 13 years!!!!!!

Tamara,
If you ever make it back to Tulsa, check out the Aquarium in Jenks. It's just south of Tulsa. There is a lot in that little town and near by to see and do. Lots of nice resturants too, like Johnnie Corino's near 91st and Riverside. I know, my daughter works there. It's Italian.
I found out today that my insurance still just needed my weight, height and BMI. Dr. didn't send that. Don't know why. I should hear for sure by next Wed. then I can get my date. The Dr.'s end doesn't seem to get everything the insurance wants the first time. This is the 3rd time it's happened. I tell them what they want and the nurse seems to send what she wants. I'M READY for this.
Hope you liked Tulsa and found it friendly. Oh, yeah, did you go to the Elephant "Run" at 1-44 and Harvard in the Tradeswind West Hotel? The club there use to be a meat market, if you know what I mean. I'm sure it still is. LOL
Take care, Cathy
Thanks Cathy,
No didn't go to the Elephant Run..just Elephant Bar which is basically a resturant which I loved to go to in CA when dating hubby. I did see a sign for the Run on my way in town but didn't catch where it was and it was getting so late and we wanted to EAT so we took what we were near to. We had a GREAT time though but it was too short of a time there....next time I'll make sure I hav emore time to enjoy more of what Tulsa has to offer.
Thanks and good luck to you with the insurance! That stinks that your Dr office is dragging their feet. I'd be on their case and find out exactly what ins. needs and MAKE them send it all. There's no excuse for that. Are they NEW at this?? I was lucky to have a surgeon with a very GOOD program and they took care of it ALL very efficiently! Again, good luck and I hope you get your approval soon!
