I have a date!!!!
I'm so excited I found out today that I was approved, and Kenny from Dr. Floyd's office called and we set the date. 12/29/05!!!! I'm scared and excited all in one ball. I would love some input on what to expect the day I arrive for surgery. My insurance says that I have to have the open RY. Any input is welcomed.
Congratulations!
I had laproscopic RNY so I can't help you with advice on that but I will say that my stay at Edmond Memorial was great! I felt the nurses were there for me and helped me any way they could. As soon as you can get moving! Sit in the chair, walk the hall. It seems like a monumental task but once you do it you will feel better. The process upon arriving at the hospital moves pretty quickly which is good since it gives you less time to think about things. My longest wait was in the preop holding area. I brought pjs, slippers, toothbrush ect but I never did put my own pj's on. I didn't bring a pillow to hold against me for the ride home so make sure and do that! You will feel every bump on the way home! Take care and let me know how you are doing.

Congratulations!!! Dr. Floyd did my surgery 9 weeks ago, he's awesome!!! Which insurance company do you have? BCBS of OK told me that I had to have the open, but Dr. Floyd did the Laproscopic and they paid almost 100% of it!
Talk to Kenny again if you can, he's awesome! Again, congrats on your upcoming surgery. You couldn't have picked a better surgeon. Dr Floyd is kind, caring and very considerate. Good luck, can't wait to hear back from you when your surgery is complete
Hmmm be sure to talk to Kenny, Heather. They told me also that I had to have the open, but Kenny and Dr. Floyd talked to them and I was able to have the lap done instead. Feel free to email me if you'd like [email protected] and we can chat for a bit if you'd like.
