external review with aetna

I am waiting for my external review to be done through Hayes Plus....I was told last week that it has to be completed by 12/9 now today I was told that I have to send them medical releases and that I have to pay 50.00 for the external review and that I have to pay it to Aetna... I personally think that this is ridiculous considering that we pay for the insurance in the first place... I have sent them 2 seperate letters on that is 4pages and one that is 6 pages... hopefully they will see that this is very medically necessary and approve me.... supposively they don't go by Aetna's determinations, so hopefully I will have that in my favor as I have been fighting with Aetna since July and quite frankly I am sick of them...... So if anyone knows anything about Hayes Plus or external review with Aetna please please let me know....
