I would think the best way to find out would be to call his office for his fees. I went to a seminar with a local doctor Ronnie Keith and he quoted $15-$22,000 for his fees and surgery center fees and that was for private pay. But because each case is different he said he would suggest a consultation with him at his office. I am sure Dr. Floyd would be the same. Have you evaluated all the doctors in the OKC/Edmond Area. I did my homework and I chose Dr. Floyd for my own personal reasons. I think you should interview or attend a varient of WLS seminars and then decide. The best way to get info on a Dr. is by meeting him yourself. He uses Edmond hospital and I had my EGD there and they were a little rushed but I had no real complaints. I have been in the medical field for a while so I know quite a bit of the staff there but I have friends on staff at other hospitals as well. I am not sure what else you are wanting anyone else to share with you? We all have different likes/dislikes as well as opinions. One thing to keep in mind is never let someone make up your mind for you, alway make your own decisions you are the one that has to live with your choices. Do you have an email? Start a profile here so we can learn about you and why you are wanting lap band. Good Luck Brittney

Hi there! Although I wasn't a self pay, Dr. Floyd did my surgery on October 6th. He's great to deal with, and I think if you call his office and make the appointment, he (OR Kenny!) will be able to give you an estimated cost. Kenny his specialist is absolutely a gem. Dr. Floyd himself is awesome!!!!!! Wishing you the best of luck on your surgery and consults.

Can't help you much with the financial parts (I had ins. and a differrent type of surgery). Dr. Floyd and his entire staff are wonderful! Same for the hospital, they have a wing dedicated to bariatric surgery patients and the staff really knows what they are doing. I know that Drs Floyd & Pierce have a seminar once a month (I think the 2nd tue. but not sure) you can call his office and tell them you want to attend and they will send you a packet of info prior to the seminar. While there they will have you fill out a questionaire about ins. etc.. and should be able to answer your self-pay questions. There is also a support group for patients at all stages pre and post-op that is held the 4th thursday of the month (this week 6pm-8pm I believe) at Edmond hospital & the 2nd saturday of the month at PHO in south OKC. Good luck on your journey! Meg Lap RNY Dr. Floyd 04/04/2005 265/175/140
