Well I am back posting. Got an info packet in mail today from Dr. Keith. Got it all filled out ready to mail. But they did not provide info on what the cost of Lap Banding with them. Nor did they provide info on what Norman Regional Hospital charges. So if anyone does not mind could you pass on this infomation, because I need to qualify for a loan at the bank and they want to know how much the cost is and I can go from there. thanks

I went to his seminar and he quoted 15-22,000 for lap band and this was on 9-14-05. He said lap RNY was around 30-35K. And I dont think that would include any additional testing he requires. Let me know if I can help Brittney

I had my surgery in Oklahoma City in May of 2003. It was performed by a surgeon who is no longer in this field. I have achieved approximately 86% excess weight loss. It is important for potential patients who are considering weight loss surgery to be well informed regarding not only the benefits and risks of surgery, but also the indications for surgery. I work for Foundation Bariatric Affilitates now and we can provide you information to help you decide, in conjunction with other allied health care professionals, if surgery for weight loss is right for you. WeightWise? has a multidisciplinary program that will help give the greatest chance for long term success with weight loss surgery. The surgeons at WeightWise? have had extensive training and experience in bariatric surgery; having completed over 2000 open and laparoscopic bariatric surgeries. In preparation for the journey, a complimentary group of health care professionals has been assembled with expertise in many fields that will assist you as you make life changes to improve your overall health. The path to a successful surgery will involve many steps. Should you be interested we can provide you with the following information. "Criteria for Surgical Weight Loss" The criteria establishing approved guidelines for this program are the result of many years of extensive research performed in the field of bariatric surgery. Each requirement has been included with your safety and success as our number one priority! Obtain referral from Primary Care Physician and records with pertinent documentation Check for insurance coverage for the procedure with your carrier. Our clinical coordinator can assist you with this process if you have questions. WeightWise? also has a self-finance package for patients. We do have information on financing options and institutions that can help provide this service for those patients needing to go this route. No matter what path you choose or who you go to. You will achieve the most benefit from your initial surgical consultation if you are very well informed before this visit. We would suggest you have written questions when you attend your consultation that they can help answer for you. You may contact Marilyn Minter or Teresa Jackson @ 405-608-1700 and we will be glad to answer questions and assist you by coordinating your care as you prepare for weight loss surgery.

Each insurance company pays differently. I went to a seminar (led by Dr Keith) where he tells you about the different surgeries. That is where you hand over your weight and insurance information. You are then called for a consultation with Dr Keith. You talk to him and then talk to his son which tells you all about the money. You could call their office and ask them prior to time.
