Hair loss woes
I know that most of us go through a hair loss phase, but I'm starting to worry that mine is turning into more than a phase. I am almost 7 months post-op (Lap RNY) and my hair loss really hit last month. It's to the point that the top of my head burnt when I was out in the sun on Mother's Day, and that had never happened to me before.
I take my biotin daily (and have since before the surg), and I could probably get in more protein, but I certainly don't ignore it either. My weight loss has been great, and for the most part I feel fantastic, but should I start using Rogaine? Does it even work on people that have hair loss for reasons other than heredity?
I promise, I'm not being overly-vain, I'm just to a very concerned point, and want to put the loss to a halt.
thanks for your help.
I started losing my hair at 2 months post op. Got a caplet wig to cover it, since it was mainly on top and pulled it back into a french roll. I am now 13 months post op and have finally got enough hair to feel comfortable wearing it without the wig. I take 2, 1500 gcm of biotin plus 2 multi vitamins with 30 gcm of biotin and tons of protein. Give it time. Rogain won't hurt, Nioxin didn't do a thing for me. BUT, I started taking juice plus gummies and that is when the hair started growing back. I don't sell the stuff, but I do advocate it. It is $50 a month, but I had energy when I didn't before and my dang hair grew back. It might be something to try.

That is so weird that you say that about the Juice plus. My brother and sister in law live in Taiwan and they sent us a DVD about Juice plus to watch. They have been taking it (she is an oncologist nurse and sells it her patients love it) and have noticed the same increase in energy Anyway they are in town now and are trying to get me to sell it or at least take it and it sounds very good. You don't make hardly anything but it is such a help to people. If anyone is interested let me know and I can get it for you.
