Lap-band feedback on Dr. Floyd
Thank you for yourfeedback, I attended a seminar at Saints and I did like both of the doctors. I am paying for this out of my pocket and I am trying to find the best price with out compromising my health. So far Dr. Floyd is the least expensive.
I noticed your weigh, I am the same starting weight as yourself. How tall are you and how long did it take you to get to your goal?
Melanie,
I used Dr. Floyd and Dr. Carter for my RNY and Dr. Pearce cared for me too. I got excellent care. Dr. Floyd is a wonderful surgeon. The Lap-Band was not as prominent 3 years ago when I first started researching WLS and I choose to go with the RNY. The lap-band proceedure from a surgical standpoint is much less invasive. You will get excellent care from Dr. Floyd and the staff at Edmond Medical center. You will get far more than what you pay for. We also welcome Lap-banders in our support group. We have RNY patients, VBG patients, and Lap-banders and support anyone going through the WLS journey. We have a live support group meeting in south OKC at Physician's Hospital of OK cafeteria on the second saturday of each month and another meeting in Edmond on the 4th Thursday of each month at Edmond Hospital classroom 1. We also have a very active yahoo group site for 24/7 questions and support. Come join our WLS family.

I'm a current Lap RNY patient of Dr. Floyd.
I'm a RN.
I have friends in surgery, ER, and "the floors"
Dr. Floyd is VERY well respected by all who know him, know of him and work with him. His bedside manner is wonderful. His manual skills are superb. (His hands are gigantic! He must not be clumsy to do these LAP procedures...) His experience is extensive. He's not in this for the money - you can tell he is really into helping people with his skills.
If I were to choose the LAP Band - I would not hesitate to have Dr. Floyd perform that procedure on me.
