Hey Guys!! Long time no posts!! Been busy you know trying to use up all this wonderful energy that I know have. I am almost 5 1/2 mo post op & down 118#. Yippee for me! I am getting kinda grossed out at this point though. I have skin for miles it seems like. My arms sag, my belly is HORRIBLE!!!! & of course the boobs are terrifying. I am wondering how to go about finding a surgeon. Should I wait until Dr. Keith says "GO"? or can I start interviewing surgeons now?? What do you guys think?? Help me out!! Please!!! I know i will need a tummy tuck--I HAVE TO HAVE A TUMMY TUCK RATHER!! Thanks in advance Sheryn 348/230/goal 180's

Sheryn, I don't have any ideas on help for you..just wanted to let you know I am right there with you... I could have written your post..I am 9 months out.. down 110 pounds... and 55 before surgery so total of 165...to get to my goal weight, I am sure some skin will have to be removed... Hello, I'am 2 years out.They will tell you to wait until your weight is stable. I live over by Tulsa.I went today to talk to a PS. I really liked him.He has worked with Gastric bypass people before.He told me that he removed 21 lbs off one gentlemans tummy.He showed me what he could do with mine I was real excited.I will not be able to do this until around Nov.The consultation is free.The estimated cost is 5,600.00 for the tummy tuck. 675.00 for the anestesia and 75.00 for the compression garment.They do have a web site.Tulsasurgicalarts.com His name is Dr. Cuzalina.Just the idea of getting it done has me excited,I can't wait! Go ahead and check things out ask to talk to others who had this done.I told him I don't expect perfection.The incision will be hip to hip and down the middle.He told me there will be a long scars.I told him that if the scars bothered me I would have a tatoo put over it.After this I will have my breast done. I waited a year before the doc said I could have a TT. My weight had stabilized and man was I ready. You really should wait until your weight has stabilized for "optimum" results that last. That is usually 12-18 months after surgery for most!!! Some Plastic Surgeons will not do their surgery until you have stabilized. They want their results maximized, too!!! However, you may want to begin researching different surgeons, what (if any) your insurance covers, what documentation you need, etc.
