Yes I finally made it to ...
Yes I finally made it to my 2 year anniversary!!!! Dr. Henry Pearce I owe my life too! I can't say enough good things about him, NOT just because he did my surgery, but because he is one of the most caring, loving men I've ever had the opportunity to meet. I'm an RN and have met many doctors over the years, but he really cares about his patients! Anyway so many changes have taken place with me over the last 2 years. I can walk now without having to use the assistance of 2 canes. I can breath with being so short of breath! I can get down in the floor with my little Grand-daughter and play! I went from a man's 7X t-shirt to a ladies medium! *S* I went from a size 58DD bra to a 40D LONGGGGGGGGGGG! *S* I do have all the excess skin that's horrible, but I have no ideal if I will be able to have any of it removed because I'm on medicare. I don't believe they pay for any of the reconstructive things. But I still feel very blessed with life! *S* I still need to lose about 40 more lbs to be at goal weight and seem to have gotten at a stand still. I can't do a lot of exercises because of my knees and not really sure how to get back into the line of losing again?? If anyone can share with me some answers I'd love to hear! In the mean time, everyone have a blessed day! *S*
There have been several long term post ops in my support groups who have struggleed with thryng to lose those few extra pounds or with some regain
The answer that has seemed to work best for all is to journal your food & activity & to go back to the basica--PROTEIN--WATER, etc to rekick your metabolism
I'm only 2 1/2 months out but from all I've read and heard at my support groups is go back to the basics and use your tool. Protein firs****er water water and exercise. I know that is a problem beacause of your knees, have you tried water walking also elyptical walkers are supposed to be lower impact on your knees. I had knee surgery on both knees just prior to WLS. Left knee in Sept and Right knee in Dec then WLS in Feb. Wow I've been doing a lot of healing. Watch the snacking or grazing and if you must make sure it is protein like cheese and very low carb. Carbs actually make you hungrier.Good Luck and keep us posted on your success.(I know you will be successful!!!)
