Just wanted to update everyone. My surgery date has been moved up. It is May 16th. I'm starting to get alittle nervous. I've been practicing sipping my water . I can't figure out how I'm suppose to get my water in if I sip and if I can't drink 30min. before, during and after I eat. It just doesn't add up mathematically. Maybe I'm just thinking about things to much. I just want to do this right. I want to be one of the ones that have such a great testimony. I also have another question,I am a counselor at a youth camp during the summer and I'm scheduled for June 6th - 10th. They know I may not be able to serve then. Is it wishful thinking to say I will be able to go?? Keep posting on this site, I love the encouragement and all the info I get from all of you.

Lap band or bypass? I had lap band surgery on April 7. Felt good as new by 8 to 10 days later...

Brenda, I know everyone is different, but I was one of those people that felt pretty dang good the day after I left the Hospital (besides being just a little sore). Having it done lap really was a good thing!! Hopefully you will be very similar and be able to do anything you want just a few days afterwards. Genie

Brenda, Unless you have other problems, I don't see why you can't go to the summer camp. You will still be on restriction as to what you can lift and carry but other than that, you should be good to go. Just FYI, I had my surgery on Nov 29, 2004 and that following weekend, I went to the Big 12 Football Championship in KC. And less than a month later, went on a 4 day cruise to the bahamas. Jus****ch your energy level and let others do the hauling for you. Good luck Lise Lap RNY 11/29/04 409/291/190
