I had a list I got from his office, but I cannot find it and the lady down there seemed to busy to go over this info with me. I need to see someone for an upper GI anyway because I feel like I have an ulcer. I am hoping to have surgery with Dr. G soon, so I would like to use a doc that I know he would approve of for and upper GI. If you had Dr. G for your surgeon, please let me know what gastrointerologist you saw pre-op. thanks!

I saw Dr. Ajmeira. He is on the list that Dr. Gorospe gave out at the orientation. Lise

Hello again. I would contact my case worker in Dr. Gorospe's office. Mine was Stacy and she was great at answering questions. I would email her and have an answer back usually in less than 1 day, she was very efficient. I would just call and ask who my case worker is and ask for her email address. Ask her to email you the list. If they can't email it then go by and pick up another one. If you can't get in with one doctor then go to the next one on the list, that's what I did. I had all of my preop testing within 1 week and 2 days. Best of luck. Rita

I also used Dr. Ajmeira. He was wonderful and super super nice. I was terrified and he just talked to me. I didn't even notice they were giving me the sleep drugs until I woke up and he asked me how I was feeling. I never even knew he did anything!! I was fine afterwards, sometimes a scratchy feeling but no pain, no noticing I had anything done. I was in and out within an hour or so. The only bad thing was the nurse at Southcrest Surgi Center DID NOT KNOW HOW TO START AN IV. I have great veins, I know this because I have never had a problem. (AND BEING A TYPE 1 DIABETIC, I WOULD KNOW BY NOW!) She stuck me 3 times and finally I called in my mother who is an ER nurse who got me on a short, non-painful stick. Make sure you do not allow them to needle you to death. (THAT IS NOT AJMERIA'S STAFF SO DON'T WORRY ABOUT HIM!) I go under the scope wednesday. Don't worry it comes super fast. Don't feel about that the staff seems rushed. They did with me too, but I just kept buggin them. You need an EGD- Dr. Ajmeria or Dr. Joe Bob Kirk You need a cardiovascular workup/exam by Dr. Dobratz (St. Johns) You need a sleep study and pulmonary workup by Dr. Worley You need to take the psych evaluation, I used Dr. Melissa Cashman You need to attend a dietitian meeting on (any) tuesday at 3 pm in the cafeteria at South Crest You need to have a gallbladder ultrasound You need to do all pre lab blood work and pay for your hospital stay upfront. (Southcrest requires it. I had to pay around 700.00 for my 10%) You must attend 1 support group session and have it documented. Just sign in at the desk. They are on the second monday of every month at the Union UMAC. His office can give directions. I hope this helps! Good Luck!
