I had my surgery 2/23/05 with Dr Gorospe and Dr Kirk. He is amazing and so is his aftercare program. Ditto to everything the other post says about Dr G. I had looked in to the surgery about 2 years ago and decided against it because it was so dangerous. Then I kept running into people who had used Dr G and talked so highly of him so I went to a seminar with my husband. We both immediately felt better about it and scheduled a consult. you can read my profile for more details. My insurance was UHC through American Airlines and I was approved in 1-2 days and had surgery two weeks later. It was so smooth. His office staff really helps with everything and are so informative. You can call anytime day or night (after your surgery) if you have questions or concerns they return the call in like 10-15 min tops and make you feel so much better. We even have people come from Arkansas to the support group every month. Dr Gorospe is at all the meetings and we even go on a trip once a year which he attends as well. He is very dedicated and caring. He rocks!!!

I would strongly recommend Dr. Floyd. I do understand about the fear. This surgery was my first other than wisdom teeth being removed. I was terrified, but I knew that doing nothing, or continuing to do what I had done was not working, and would kill me. Dr. Floyd is a gifted surgeon. He is shy and doesn't have the greatest bedside manner when you first meet him, but he does care about his patients; and warms up as you get to know him. I have had few complications, and the support I have gotten from him post op has been marvelous. What specifically are you afraid of? Jill (PS: Surgery 11/11/04 --- down @ 90 pds.)
