OK.....WHAT'S IRRITATING YOU POST SURGERY?
HI EVERYONE .... I POST THIS LAST NIGHT AND GOT A TON OF RESPONSES. HOWEVER BEING THE COMPUTER GENIUS THAT I AM . I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED EVERYBODIES RESPONSE :>( SORRY GUYS!
PLEASE RE-SEND. ANY HOW JUST IN CASE YOU FORGOT I DECIDED TO HAVE THE BYPASS SURGERY AS OPPOSED TO THE GASTRIC LAPBAND PRECEDURE DUE TO THE DRASTIC WEIGHT LOSS I SEE IN SO MANY PEOPLE AND I BELIEVE THIS WILL BE THE BEST THING FOR ME AS I DO HAVE A LOT OF WEIGHT TO LOSE. THE QUESTION IS WHAT IRRITATES YOU THE MOST....I MEAN REALLY GETS UNDER YOUR SKIN ABOUT THIS WHOLE PROCESS POST SURGERY?
Tiffany,
I suppose the times when I want to binge or eat constantly, and I can't. That is the blessing and the curse of this surgery. It's what I wanted the surgery for, and (thank you God) it has helped with that. But I do believe what a friend said to me about the surgery: it was a tool to help with the physical addiction and compulsion with food. It doesn't fix the mental, and much of the disease of compulsive overeating is mental.
Other things that irritate me the most: DUMPING (Oh GOD!!!!!) I haven't experienced that often, but when it does, it has been bad, most recently during a week in which I was eating healthy, not craving food, and eating only food that my body had tolerated previously. Don't know what that was about, but it didn't last long, and (a few days), and most importantly, I didn't stop exercising.
and finally, my personal favorite.....
seeing people come back into my life who dropped my acquaintance after my last weight gain because I was just too "freakish" and unhealthy want to come back into my life now that I've dropped a hundred pounds. You can guess what my reaction to that scenario was, and no I didn't expect it at all........
Thanks,
Jill
following all the "rules" and still not losing. Jeeze, what is up with that? It is the frustrating part for me. Especially when I work out and get in the protein and fluids. My body is stuborn. I thought that if I do everything I am suppose to do it would be easier than this. Not that I expected it to be "easy". Some of us, no matter how closely we follow the "rules" will have a harder time than others. Good new is, my dr. says I can still reach goal, but it might take me upto 18 months out to do it. So long as I do i am a happy camper. A plus for me is, people think I weigh less than I do, I carry my weight well, as my mother use to tell me, of course i would like to carry a lot less. I have about 45 to 50 more to lose. Good luck on your journey.
