I just got back from seeing my PCP to get my referal to a plastic surgeon. Would you believe that did not even look at me. He just lectured me about state insurance and how it was elective surg even if I was having back pain and developing a rash. His words exactly " I do not think that the state will pay for this and I dont think they should". Needless to say, I am getting a new PCP today. I just told him that whether or not he agreed with the insurance portion or not, I either wanted the referall or a second opinion. We'll see how that goes. I should know in about 2 days or so. Did I mention that my PCP is a heffalump? grrrrrrrrrr

Good Luck! I hope you find a new PCP real quick and get your referral...If that PCP was having the rashes and back pain.. he would feel differently about it.. That PCP has no compassion for his patients.... soyou go get what you need...

I would be so irritated. I think you should file a complaint with the state medical board. It is the duty of your doctor to determine if the procedure is medically necessary - NOT for him to determine whether or not the state should pay for it. That is the job of the state insurance - not the doc.

Beth, You could always fake another abduction of a family member. That way lots of innocent and unsuspecting people would send you money and donations to help "find" this person. Of course, then you would, as usual, miraculously find the missing person and keep the money - or not pay people for services they offered in your "Time of Crisis". Go ahead and get the paypal account ready.....
