Has anyone used Dr. Svein Holsaeter?
Dr. Holsaeter did LAP gallbladder sugery on my husband Oct 2003. I looked into using him for my WLS but he only does the Adjustable band and I can't do that due to an autoimmune disease that I have. He's a good surgeon...but I don't believe they have an after care program...and that is essential to success with WLS.
Also the "registered" part on this site means the doctors PAY Obesityhelp.com to to list them. It's an effort to make money for this site, nothing to do with providing information to those seeking WLS.
My surgeon was Ronnie Keith, have you called his office...they have an excellent aftercare program and he is a terrific surgeon.

Patti,
I have not heard of Dr. Holsaeter. The decision of which surgeon to use has as much to do with the aftercare as it does with the procedure you choose. Lap Bands have ongoing maintainance visits. You need to use a surgeon that understands the aftercare process and is willing to support you and your needs. I love the care and concern that I have always received at Edmond Hospital and Dr. Floyd's office. My surgeon that did my RNY is no longer doing any weight loss surgery, but Dr. Floyd was the assisting surgeon and I can always ask him or his office for advice and support. I voluteer to be at their seminars and co-moderate the support group. The program is continually growing. Dr. Floyd offers both RNY and Lap-band because he realizes that different people have different needs. If you have decided that the lap-band is the surgery for you, then give Dr. Floyd a call and get to know him. That is the only way you will know if he is the surgeon for you.
Hugs to you today,
Sherry
