plateau blues...
Hi, I have been a lurker here for at least 6 months now. I had surgery with Dr. Fisher on Dec. 27 and at my two week appointment had lost 34 pounds. Now it's like my body had said, well, that's it...no more for you... I'm so frustrated. I didn't do well on protien for the first couple of weeks, but found a protien shake I like and am now getting about 55 g per day. Funny enough, it's like when I actually starting doing things right I stopped losing? I am still on soft foods like cream soups, cottage cheese, some crackers about 10 gold fish per day, I have had a few baked tortilla chips with FF refried beans. I have splurged and had a couple of sugar free lifesavers. Oh, and I have eaten a couple of chef boyardee cheese raviolies. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal. Right now I feel like I just want to scream - it's so hard to cope with feeling like you have made such an amazing life-changing decision only to now wonder if it was all for a measly 35 pounds. Maybe I'm just impatient, maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Any words of wisdom from anyone? You all have such amazing successes and I would appreciate any insight! Thanks and Congrats to those of you who are doing so well! Keep it up!
everyones body takes a break at some point, some sooner than others. First off 34 lbs is great and in less than a month. Your body is adjusting to the lost pounds and still healing from the surgery. Don't be so hard on your self, don't judge yourself by how fast or slow others are, and follow all the rules and you will do fine. Good luck.
Lisa,
34lbs in 3 weeks is wonderful. Dont worry about being stuck for a week, it is just your body trying to catch up with itself. It happens to all of us. Make sure you take your measurements so that when you are slower on losing actual pounds you will see the inches melting away.
Thanks for the compliment....I try to talk about all my success and problems so that others can see they are not alone. We are ALL here to support eachother. If there is ever anything I can do, please dont not hesitate to ask......Also keep up the protein........
