Need Feedback about Dr. Keith.
I am also preop and just got insurance approval. I have been to the seminar but not actually met with Dr. Keith yet. His staff however have been most helpful to me while I have been waiting for approval. They seem very sincere. I am anxious to hear what responses you get, most everything I have heard about him has been great.

If you check out the link for Bariatric Surgeons on the left you can then click on Dr. Keith's testimonials. You can also check out Norman Regional Hospital too. I have had a very good experience so far with Dr. Kieth and Norman Regional. I can say one thing for sure, that Dr. Kieth leaves no stone unturned to make sure you have the best outcome. I was approved in early August but I had to go thru an angiogram due to an abnormal EKG and the pulmanary specialist did not approve the surgery on the first visit. I had to start a new asthma medication and be on it for one month before I went back to him and then he cleared me for the surgery. Just 2 days before my scheduled surgery on Dec 2nd Dr. Kieth's office told me my surgery was postponed due to my low prealbumin level. I have been on a high protein diet and protein supplements ever since. I will find out tomorrow whether or not there is an improvement. I am going into all of this because I have been really upset because Dr. Kieth will not due the surgery until my prealbumin is at least in the normal range. The prealbumin level greatly affects one's ability to fight infection and heal properly. I had to think about it for a few days and after reading about some poor souls on this page who have had terrible complications or worse because of some doctors who actually do no pre op testing whatsoever I am greatful to be in the hands of a surgeon who puts the patient first. Sorry about the long post but I hope I have helped.
God Bless

Thanks Michelle... It looks like you have had some challenges along the way. It is truly comforting to know that he checks things so closely. I followed your advice and read the testimonials and feel better about my decision in choosing him. I live in the Tulsa area and could have used a doctor much closer, but felt compeled to try Dr. Keith because of his aftercare program and quite frankly the excellent customer service I have witnessed with his office staff. I did not receive the same treatment close to home, so it looks like I'll be driving a ways to see Dr. Keith. Thanks for your reply and good luck with your journey. Keep us posted on when your surgery date is.

My hubby and I both had lap rny's with Dr. Keith. Hubby's was in Oct. 2003, mine was July 2004. Neither one of us has had any problems at all. Both of us have lost around 90 pounds (I weighed more than hubby presurgery). We both had wonderful experiences all around with Dr. K, his staff and Norman Regional. We highly recommend Dr. K and the hospital. No complaints here and would gladly do it again. If you have any more specific questions feel free to ask.

Roxie,
How wonderful to hear about you and your husbands success. I can't wait to start living life again. I need to lose about 120 pounds, so I have a lot of work cut out for me. Its amazing in just five months you have lost that much weight. They will have to tie me down if that happens to me from shear excitement. Congratulations!
