I know this may sound like a stupid question to alot of people, but I really don't know what all it entails to have a exam with a pulmonologist? I still have to have this done and i am wondering what I will have to do for it. Can someone help explain this to me. I also have to have a echo and a ekg done...please help explain these if possible. thanx

The Pulmonologist exam consists of chest x-rays and a breathing test where you breathe into a machine. This helps the pulmonolgist decide if you are at a high risk for blood clot complications, etc. He may also require a sleep study. The EKG & Echo - The EKG takes less than 5 minutes and it is just some monitors placed in various places on your body and monitors your heart. The Echo is like a sonogram of your heart. It takes about 15 minutes and is somewhat uncomfortable. Good Luck.
