UPDATE!!! insurance didn't deny after all because of me...terminated contract with the...

Well, now I have more info on my case. The surgeons office told me that Pacificare denied me because of not medically necessary. Well that wasn't the case at all. Their contract with the surgeon was to be terminated by 10-15-04. Well the surgeon failed to tell me this and to make matters worse I even went in to have an endoscopic procedure done on the morning of the 15th. I even paid a $150 co-pay for this procedure when all the while the surgeon knew that he would not be doing my surgery or anything else for me. Now Pacificare has given me 3 surgeons in Tulsa (Fisher, Katsis, & Mitchell) to see if they can do the surgery. I only have until the end of the year to get this done. I have already had the physc. eval. so I don't want to give up yet. Because if I don't pursue this I will regret it later. It makes me angry that this surgeon and his office have wasted precious time that I could have used in getting this done. Well enough of my whining! I am just frustrated! I've heard good things about Fisher - and I know quite a few people that have had surgery in Tulsa. I wish they were more active here, but I bet you'll find someone that can give you some good 'long distance' tips! I know you are relieved, I am excited for you that you are still on your way!

Hi Aretta! First, let me say I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with your surgeon!! I used the same surgeon (if it's the one listed in your profile), and the office staff and surgeon were great! So, once again, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience!!! I wish you luck getting your surgery performed in Tulsa. I've heard good things about Drs. Fisher & Katsis. I've never heard of Dr. Mitchell, but I'm sure he's a good surgeon as well! I will look for more updates! Heather
