FROM VERTICAL BAND TO RNY.............
HAS ANYONE HAD THE VBG WITHOUT SUCCESS AND LATER ON HAD THE RNY?
IF SO, CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW THEY ARE DOING AND WHAT COMPLICATIONS IF ANY? WHO WAS THE SURGEON? WHAT HOSPITAL AND HOW LONG OF A STAY?
I AM CONSIDERING THE RNY. WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM EVERYONE WHO MAY BE ABLE TO HELP WITH THIS DECISION.
THANKS.
I had a VBG in 1999 and lost approx. 50 pounds and then stopped. I never gained any weight back, but I had much more than 50 pounds to lose. I had a revision to an RNY on 6/22/04 and have lost about 60 pounds. The difference for me is great, because with the VBG I threw up a lot and with the RNY I have felt nauseated a few times, but never thrown up. I can eat a wider variety of food...especially meat. I'm glad I got the revision, but it took me a couple of months to say that
