Hi Everyone! Well, it's been a few days since I last posted, and I wanted to update everyone on me! As of today (13 days out), I have lost 27.6 pounds. It just blows my mind. I saw Dr. Floyd today, and they took out half of my staples (Keep in mind I have the lovely LAP incisions as well as the larger OPEN incision - SIGH. I found out I can drink tea (Tried some on the way home - unfortunately it was a wee bit too strong for me!). I also found out I can drink outta a straw if it's comfortable for my grouchy pouch. Fortunately, I'm tolerating the straw really well. This way I don't have to smell what I'm drinking. Things taste super yucky to me right now. Dr. Floyd said it might be my antibiotics that I was on. Frankly, I have been missing soda/cola/carbonation. I have not been CRAVING it; just missing it. I have not been doing as awesome as my friend Traci. That girl - it's almost like she didn't have surgery! I am very proud of her. I'm still confused as to my diet. I think I can eat anything I want (as long as I tolerate it), with the exception of red meat. Frown. The nutritionist wasn't the biggest help. But, I am muddling my way through. I had some Chili's Chicken Enchilada soup for dinner - Can we say YUM!?! My two year old won't sit on my lap yet But he has told me that when I get all my staples out he will. I feel like I should be doing more, but I just don't have hardly any energy yet! My husband and parents and brother and whole family have really been terrific during this whole process. I think I've babbled enough, but I'd love to hear from anyone! Heather

Hey cutie! its good to hear from you! wow girl, you are such a LOSER!! woo hoooo!!! dont worry about the energy thing. Dr. Pearces PA, Joe, told me its normal and to be expected for up to to months or more.....I was feeling frustrated too cuz otherwise, i feel SO dang GOOD!!!! I lost 21 when i got on the scales at their office today and am so thrilled!!!!! Im proud of you heather! keep tuffin it out.....ya, the nutritionist isnt alot of help, hopefully they can get a handle on that. I was told just to keep trying things in moderation, watching the fat and sugar~so thats what im gonna do! food is just sounding icky to me right now, so the past couple days ive been forcing myself to eat as the protein drinks taste awful to me now; even my fav nectars! waaaahhh!!!

Hey Traci! Good to hear from you too! I tried to call ya last night to see how your appt. went - I left a message Yeah.. Dr. Floyd said at least 6 wks. on the energy thing. SIGH! I'm so happy for you!!! 21 pounds.. WOW!! You Go Girl!!! I know what you mean about food sounding icky.. sigh. I did try a protein shake.. something chocolate with chocolate car countdown milk. It was not the tastiest thing in the world... to say the least. I will try one of my nectar's tonight. I do hope it's just the antibiotic is the reason things don't taste so great. I can stomach water now!! WOOHOO!! I'm going to my mom's this afternoon.. but would love to chat with you this evening.. if possible Heather

Heather, Great job!!! I lost 17.8 at my 2 week check up. You a such a wonderful LOSER!!!!!! Any other time, that would be bad, but here it's great. I too saw a Pepsi the other day with my name on it, but figured the way the weight is coming off---I'm not going to risk dumping. So far nothing has made me dump, but tonight I think I ate a little too much and was uncomfortable for the next hour. I'm measuring next time!!!! I'm also with you on the confusion thing. Floyd said anything soft still. I've tried Wendy's chili--w/a little sourcream and cheese, it was great. It was 2 meals for only 99cents. I'm now officially a really "cheap" date. I know no raw veggies for another month or so, but I can tolerate milk, yogurt, chili, chicken soup, broth, eggs, sausage (in small amounts) and most everything else. Still don't enjoy potatoes, but really I don't need all those carbs anyway. Also, guacamole is great! Not a lot, but it was so good. My girls are thrilled to hug me again. I'm going to check out Chili's soon. I have already been to Pepper's. Did you know that on Sunday's kids eat for $1.50!!! I got an enchilade, rice and beans for dinner Sunday and had 2 meals off of it and threw out the rest. Congrats again. Teresa

Hi Teresa!!! That's awesome - 17.8 pounds!!!!! You must be so excited! Ahh.. someone who understands the soda thing.. My family (husband, parents, etc.) are HUGE soda drinkers! It's been tough, but I understand carbonation's a . So, I resist. I asked the nurse yesterday if she c ould tell me how big my pouch was, and she said "Not exactly, but they're all pretty much 1/4 of a coffee cup." Hrm.. big help there. Which size coffee cup do we use to measure that?!? I have been avoiding Wendy's chili (Although I wanna try it so bad!!) cause Dr. Floyd told me "no red meat". SIGH. My parents are going to have a cookout on Sunday (Well, they're hoping to have one). I am looking forward to going to that. I think they're going to smoke a pork loin, maybe some chicken.. just for me Dr. Floyd told me not to eat too much barbeque this weekend! I do ok with potatoes. And did you know we can have watermelon?! It's YUMMY!!!! I've never been to Pepper's, but I love going to Chili's. My favorite was their Southwestern Eggrolls. Of course, i can't eat the deep fried outer shell now, but I hope to someday eat the insides! We have family up near Tulsa, so next time we're up there, I'll have to check out Pepper's. Please feel free to share any food inspirations with me! Once again, Congratulations!!!!!!! I'm so proud of you! Heather
