I understand there's several physical medical tests that need to be performed before surgery. Is it really bad? Does it hurt? Which is the worse part? I just don't want any surprises.

its really a piece of cake....nothing to worry over honestly. What type of tests are you required to have? every doctor and insurance is different....

I had several of my pre-op tests yesterday. Painless! I had chest X Rays, EKG, ultrasound of the heart, and a lung capacity test.

Psych Evaluation: You talk to a Psychiatrist for about 45 minutes. Pulmonary: Chest X-Rays; Breathing test; Physical Exam Cardiac: Echocardiogram and EKG - If you are "older" you may have to do a full heart work-up which may include a stress test.
