Lap help, self pay, any info?????
Hey Dave,
My hubby and I have both used Dr. Keith in OKC. He performs laparoscopic. He performs his surgeries at Norman Regional Hospital. I'm not sure how he deals with self pay but I'm sure he and the hospital would work with you. We have had no problems at all with any of the staff and have made payments on our copays. Good luck!

I just found Dr. Kuri in Mexico.......I have talked to a couple of his patients, the doc himself(twice) and I am blown away by the price!!! The facility seems to be more than adequate in all situations.....I think THIS IS IT!!!!!!
Here is how he has it broken down....two packages, one is just under $9k and the other is just under $10k.....all I have to do is get to San Diego, they take it from there....I thought scheduling would be an issue.....far from it! Everything with this is falling in line effortlessly......
Anyone have any info on Dr. Kuri that might discourage me? Please share.....otherwise, this will be done within the next 10 days!!!!!
David, I just read your profile, well where we click on to email you, and I thought you said you had already had surgery, talking of the pros and cons. I live in Edmond and am looking for a new job with insurance. I work at Crest Foods and we have BC/BS and they have a written exclusion. Are you going to Mexico or have you already had surgery?

Robbin, I had my open VBG 4 years ago with Dr. Hanan.....would do that again tomorrow if it was the only way....I was a self pay then as well. My wife is having the surgery in MEXICO with Dr. Kuri.....$8900 is the cheapest, and it is done LAP, so that was a HUGE selling point. I lost 160lbs, now I need a body lift to get the look I want without a shirt on....lol....I am so vain, but most pea****s are. I will be checking into the body lift for myself down there while the wife is getting her lap-band.
if you have any questions that I can answer for you, please let them fly....and I wish you luck on the job hunt.....maybe MEX will be an option for you....I wish I would have known about this 4 years ago!
Dave, check out Dr Aquirre in Ensenada, Mexico. He doesn't do lap, but he is an outstanding surgeon. I had an open RNY that was a revision of a 20 year old VGB on 12/19/03 and have lost 134#. He now charges $8500.
