Help choosing surgeon in Tulsa
I am not sure which surgeon to use. Dr. Gorospe or Dr. Bosquez. Can anyone tell me what they have heard (good or bad) about either or both? I really need some help here. Also I am a cash pay and I am wondering if there is any low interest loans available out there or if anyone paying cash has any ideas!!! Projected surgery date is September.
Patsy,
I am awaiting approval from Aetna for surgery on June 28 with Dr. Bosquez. I had a consult with Dr. William Briggs, gastroenterologist, last week, and he highly favored Dr. B. over the others. Dr. Briggs is on the executive board at Southcrest, and he said that Dr. B. has the lowest rate of complications, and no fatalities that he's aware of.

Patsy,
I don't know what he requires you to have as far as the lap. I know for the open, I'm having an endoscopy done tomorrow, already had my psych exam and testing, next week I'll be going for the echo for the heart, and also they will inject thiallum dye while I do the treadmill test and then I get to have someone draw blood.
Thank goodness needles don't bother me!!!!
Dr. Briggs, the gastroenterologist, said Dr. Bosquez has had no fatalities that he is aware of.

Hi Patsy, I too will be a cash pay patient.Would you possibly be able to travel for your surgery? I am planning to use Dr. Kerry Ozment in Little Rock, AR.He is listed on this site, I think. IF you cant find him, email me and I will give you his phone number. His cost is just under $15000 total cost of all testing, surgeon fees and hospital bill. His website is www.stvincentobesitysurgery.com It is a 4 hour drive from Tulsa. You can learn all about his extensive background on his website. Also as far as paying for it,I am getting my house refinanced but I know that Capital One Credit will finance elective surgerys. Here is their number 800-903-3637.It may take talking to a few different people to get to the right person but they do finance it.If you have any other questions feel free to email me.Good luck
I had Dr. G.
I have no complaints about his skill what-so-ever. I DID , however, like the bedside manner of his assistant, Dr. Joe Bob Kirk, much better than Dr. G. His office seems to ALWAYS be busy; and if I had it to do over again, I may have chosen another doctor, simply because of that.
He is a great surgeon, and is highly skilled. He knows what he is doing; and if you don't mind NOT having "the personal touch" then he's your man. If that part DOES matter to you, then you might want to go elsewhere.
Just my two cents worth!
