Can anyone share with me their PCP? My Dr. absolutely refuses to discuss WLS with me.So, I want to find a Dr that is not totally against this type of surgery so when I come back from AR,where I plan on having the surgery, if all goes well, Ill have someone to go to for after care if needed. Thx

Hi Cathy, My PCP is Dr. R Dean Spence in Bethany Oklahoma, not close to Tulsa I"m afraid...My doctor was against WLS for years...then a few of his patients had it and he saw first hand what good results they had. I discussed WLS with him and he wrote a wonderful letter to my insurance company recommending WLS for me. He is an awesome guy! Wish I could be of more help here in Oklahoma City. Good Luck! Leesa

Dr Art Coder in Broken Arrow is 251-2666. He is very understanding about weight issues...he is overweight as well. I must admit he is a little goofy! I think thats great though! He might try to send you to a surgeon friend of his but you don't have to go there. I know how doctors like to refer to their cronies!

Dr. Paul Krautter is WLS friendly. His number is 743-8200 and he is located at 2325 S Harvard. His office is in the Physican's Office Building of Doctor's Hospital. I think the clinic name is Harvard Family Physicans. I went to him when I thought I was going to need a PCP referral for insurance. Since I am self-pay, I have gone back to my longtime PCP, Dr. Rae at MCAT-Interchange Plaza. He is not thrilled about my WLS but we have visited in depth about the aftercare I will require. I really like him as my primary doc and want to continue seeing him. Dr. Krautter, however, was a nice guy and very supportive of WLS. In fact, one of his nurses or office staff has had the procedure. ~ * Alice Schneider * ~
