Hey all, thank you for the words of encouragement. I am feeling a little better about the whole thing. I have decided I am just going to have to do a lot of praying and do what feels right. It is nice to hear from people in Oklahoma. I think I am going to check out the two surgeons who seem to be used the most in the Tulsa Area. See what their statistics are, etc. The 1st surgeon I saw was one my pcp suggested. Anyway, thank you all so much for your words of encouragment and support. I'll keep you posted.

Daph: I would absolutely love to be able to go, but, as heavy as I am, I own a dance studio (teach tap, jazz, ballet, etc.) anyway, my classes are Monday - Thursday evenings. Are there any other meeting times other than Monday evenings? Have you had surgery yet, if so, what type. Dr. Bosquez and Gorospe seem to be the two doctors used most in our area. Have you heard anything about their statistics? I believe, not too long ago on the nationwide website, I read about one of Dr. Goprospe's patients not making it as well. It is all pretty scary. I am really having to consider this surgery as I had a brother that passed away at 40 3 years ago and I am my parents only child. I know they could not make it if something happened to me, not to mention my husband and 3 children. So, here I am searching for the right answer. I would love to be healthy with a side benefit of being a size 8 (haven't been that since I was about 18 years old). I am 5'2 and weigh 274 pounds. Way too heavy. I love teaching my dance classes and seem to do well, with the exception of warm up exercises. I hate getting up and down off the floor so I usually have my older students do the warmup. So, I am researching WLS. I have had to join a weight loss group for 6 months (insurance requirement through Aetna HMO) before they will even consider approving the surgery. So, I have about 4 months to go before they will even consider approval. Let me know how things are with you. It's great to talk to someone local. Rita
