or, at least my husband say he doesn't hear me stop breathing. I'm wondering if I have true sleep apnea. I have other symptoms - daytime fatigue, morning headaches, very dry mouth in the morning and sometimes, a sore throat. I also am having an increase in very wierd, long-lasting dreams. I always heard you dream when you're in REM sleep, and sleep apnea sufferers don't get INTO REM sleep. So, again, wondering if I have it or not. Sleep apnea is a BIG point with my insurance and will probably be a big factor in whether they'll approve me or not. I have my first appointment with a sleep specialist next Friday - just trying to find out info. before then from some "experts" out there who suffer from this. Any comments would be most appreciated!! Thanks!

Hello, I belive you have sleep apnea.I had all the same problems that you had. I ended up on a c-pap for 6 weeks before my surgery. It turned out that in 6 hours ,2 hours I did not sleep.I stopped breathing 42 times. One of those times was up to 23 seconds.I also had a nightmare that night. The Doc. said that it was possible in that time frame. When I started the c- pap it drove me nuts for about 4 days after that it was easy for me to handle. Now that I 'am out almost 5 months down 77lbs.My c-pap setting is to high.I'm starting to stay awake again and I'm snoring again so I will have to go back and re do my sleep studies again (YUK) The sleep studies is not all that bad they just seem to wire you up fo cable. It is kinda diffilcult to sleep with all the wires on.But don't balk on the c-pap it truly isn't that bad it just takes getting use to.I actully miss getting to use mine.I felt better when I got up.I had more energy felt alot better and slept thur the night.Good luck and let me know how everything goes for you.
