no health related problems documented

I am researching having surgery done but the problem I am having is I have no documented health related problems. All doctors have ever told me was to change the way I eat and lose weight. I have never had to go to the doctor for any problems related to my weight. I am at least 100 lbs overweight. I am hesitant to even call anyone about surgery because I have no other problems except for being overweight. Should I let this stop me or does this happened with any one else? I am not sure what to do, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Sherri, I would go ahead and try. The doctors will probably help you with what you need. Do your knees or feet ever hurt? Possibly you have arthritis in them and that is a health related problem. Also you are at risk for developing many health related problems. Are you sure that you don't have sleep apnea. My husband finally was the one to make me go to see a sleep specialist when I kept him up all night... Good Luck. It can't hurt to try.. Cindy
