I've gotten to experience life with a lapband AND with a sleeve so I know where you're coming from on the eating thing. It DOES suck when you're SO used to eating as much as you want around friends but just remember that you are doing this for you. Not anyone else. You make the decision on what goes into your mouth and what doesn't. You're doing an excellent job and I will be cheering you on all the way!

Hi! I know of several people in Durant that have had WLS. I had RNY myself. You made a decision to take control and save your life that's a big step. Don't be ashamed of that decision and don't give anyone the time of day that doesn't support it. The co-worker that kept offering you food would he offer you a cigarette if you had stopped smoking or offer you a drink if you were an alcoholic? You have allot invested in your surgery your life depends on its success. You are losing weight keep up the good work and be proud!!!

Karen,
It's difficult to share with others, they don't share the obese experience and don't understand how we feel. I told most people about my band, now that I have regained weight, I wish I hadn't. It probably wouldn't matter because they would still be asking how I lost the weight and why I didn't eat as much. I am still glad I did it, just frustrated that I have allowed stress to make me lose my focus. I should have reached my goal by now and I am far from it. It's a great tool if you use it properly.
I hope you remained focused on what is best for you and don't allow other to make you feel less than beautiful, successful and worthy of love and respect.

Thanks.  I understand and totally agree with what you said.  It is all about accountability.  I hope I remain focus also.  I just want to see my son grow up.  That is my main goal.

Okay, it's Saturday! Trying to keep quantity of food low since nutrition of ham & beans is probably questionable :) Had a great trip to Joplin with the family and now a relaxing evening at home. Have a great weekend everyone. New post tomorrow for a new week!

It's Saturday!!! I've had a really good day food wise. I woke up WAY too early for my niece's game she was cheering in so I've had a totally lazy afternoon. Gotta get some motivation to get my butt on the elliptical tonight. Maybe during the game. Going to the fair tomorrow so wish me luck to not drool all over everyone at the food they're eating

Just discovered this Oklahoma group.  I am two months out from RNY and feeling a bit of frustration.  Not losing much at all after such a drastic step as the surgery.  On a positive note I have not had any negative side effects.  Still not eating a lot of solid food.  Just waiting on the benefits to begin!
