Hello!  I am new here and I've been researching the gastric sleeve procedure nonstop for the past few weeks.  I have read many reviews for Dr. Walton and Dr. Broussard with the Weight Wise program in Edmond. Has anyone here had any experience with either of them?  My doctor thinks very highly of Dr. Walton, but I've been told that Dr. Broussard with be hosting the seminar this weekend.  I'm very interested in seeing what he has to say.  I just want to know what to expect.  Thanks!

I had surgery with Dr. B  (that is what we call Dr. Broussard) in Feb. 2009.  He is great, he and Dr. Walton work together.  I also had the sleeve, you will be in good hands with Dr. B.  I have lost 100 pounds and had no problem what so ever.
The nurses in the hospital were great and personal staff at Weight Wise is super.

Wow, it's nice to hear that you had such a great experience with Dr. B and the staff at Weight Wise!  It's really exciting to hear about such a great weight loss!  I'm even more eager to meet with him and get this process started!

I also used Dr Broussard.  I had surgery on the 13th of January and am down 32lbs!  I cannot say enough good things about him and know you will not be disappointed...

They are both fantastic doctors.  My daughter and I had our Gastric sleeve surgeries in 2008 with Dr. B and my aunt had the sleeve done in May 2009.  We are all very pleased with our results and the doctor's are wonderful.  Good luck.

Dr. Walton did my VSG almost 3 years ago.  I cannot reccomend them enough!  You cannot go wrong, regardless of which you choose- Dr. B or Dr. W.  They have different personalities-- Dr. B is MUCH more direct if you are screwing up, Dr. W much more gentle-- he will still tell you but more gently.

Most people say that the surgery game them their life BACK-- I say they game me a life!  I went on my first diet in 1st grade.  I have always battled (usually unsuccessfully) my weight since I was a small (well not small but young) child.  I could not imagine my life when not being defined by being morbidly obese.  GO FOR IT!!  Weight Wise surgeons rock!

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I had gastric sleeve with Dr. B in May of 2009 and have lost over 120lbs most of that being in the first year.  I have now been holding my weight steady at 120lbs for over 6 months which is 20 lbs less than the 140lb goal I orginally set.  I couldn't be happier with the results.  Just make sure you have a great patient care coordinator they are your life source to the doctor.  My original one was excellent but it has changed and i can't get her to ever return my call or answer the questions i ask.

First you'll attend a seminar and have the chance to ask some questions and listen to someone who's had rny/vsg before as a testimonial. Afterward, you can set up an appointment with a doctor either immediately following the seminar or whenever you want (I waited a week before setting up an appointment with Dr. B, who also gave my seminar).

As an aside, I had a fluke complication three months post-op, and was fortunate enough to be tended to in THEIR Edmond facility and not a local hospital. Way low infection rate, MUCH better nurses who actually check on you, bring you meds, etc. They had to do a TP line to feed me because I hadn't eaten in three weeks (couldn't) and was dehydrated. I SHUDDER at the thought of being hospitalized at norman regional, midwest, etc with those problems...wouldn't get me in the door to those hospitals...

Hello, I am from Enid which is where Dr. Walton came from.  People here adore him and I'm one of them.  He has performed 4 surgeries on me and I can't say enough great things about him.  I have also heard very good things about Dr. B.  I know Dr. Walton would not work with him if he wasn't very good.  I am having Dr. Walton do a VSG on May 24th and I don't any reservations at all.  Also, my Dad had eye surgery two weeks ago at the hospital they are at.  His wife is an RN and they said the care was excellent!  Good luck!
