Home from tummy tuck

I am doing much better than I anticipated after my tummy tuck last Thursday (12/9.)  Dr. Sawan did an amazing job!  It is still like looking at a stranger's body when I look at my tummy.  I can't wrap my brain around the fact that this is what I will be dressing from now on.  Weird...  The pain has been minimal.  The drain is a pain in the rear end but doable for the great results.

Life is good!

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I am almost 2 weeks post-op now.  With the excpetion of the drain this has been SO much easier than I anticipated.  It is still like looking at an alien body when I am showering.  I recognize above the torso and below but everything in between is so foreign.  I have no idea what size I will end up needing after the swelling goes down.  I am shaped so differently there will be a steep learning curve for dressing the new body.

As anticipated now I hate my thunder thighs!  Must find a way to save enough money to get them done!  This is not a surprise revelation to me.  I knew what would happen when I no longer had the big tummy to offset the thighs...

I'm glad it's going well for you. Have you had any surprises?

I'm at my goal & apprehensive about maintaining. I'm planning to look my body over in another year and make decisions about what if anything I want to have done. I certainly have plenty of loose skin on my inner thighs & tummy. In fact, if I were to catalog it all, it would be simpler to say that from the elbows and knees down, I look good.

Merry Christmas,

Good Luck to you.  I had mine on 11/4/2010 in Maryland. I feel great. $7300. Just like you said, the drains are a little uncomfortable, but now I can see my "girl friend" and groom it.  LOL.  You have no idea.  I still have some swelling, but it is going down fast.  BTW, I have only lost 3 lbs from the tuck.  But I have lost another pant size.  Down to a size 6.  AMEN.

PS.  I was able to use my flexible spending to pay for some of it.
Keep Losing...weight that is!
